Amp cutting out for some reason
Monday, April 11, 2005 10:56 PM
Ok, last year i had a pioneer 8500. Got a capacitor. Amps never cut out at all.

This year, i put in a pioneer avh-7500 (7" screen"), and now if i got the subs poundin and im stopped for more than 5 seconds, the sub amps cut out....i think i even got my amp for my components to cut out a few times too.

I know the most common fix is to turn down the amps, but i didnt change anything from last year, and they are down pretty low.

Is my new deck draining more power or something ?

What would be the best way to fix it ? New Battery? Alternator ?

How much do those optima yellow tops cost anyways ?...wouldnt mind gettin somethin with more power for the winter starts too anyways.

if you got a new headunit you would have to adjust the gains to match the new unit. anytime u change a piece in your system the gain will need readjusted. but on to the problem. my first thought would be to recheck all your wiring to make sure something hasnt come loose over time. next i'd check the voltage on your wires and amps to make sure everything is getting proper power, then i'd take the car up to your local auto store and check the alt and battery to make sure all of it is running fine.
