Okay i work at a pawn shop and i just picked up this alpine in dash flip up monitor, now my question is how the F do you get the "PICTURE OFF FOR YOUR SAFETY" off the screen so u can watch dvds?

i havent put it in my car yet but i did the basic hookup (red, yellow, speakers, and ground) and then i noticed a parking break signal and figured that has to be it so i grounded it, didnt work. tried a positive hot lead, nope

If anyone is educated on this subject please post

hmmm, I was always under the impression you could hook up the parking break wire to the ground and it will work

Might be why it was dropped at a pawn shop lol. Sounds like you've tried the normal ways. I'd say try to find the manual online at Alpine's web site, and see if it has anything special that it needs.
