Bypass factory alarm!

Ok I want to install an aftermarket alarm in my 2002 Cavalier.

I took it to get it installed and the guys couldn't install it because they couldn't bypass the factory alarm.

Does anyone know what I need to do so I can have a aftermarket alarm?

what fool of a shop did you take it too..... the factory alarm doesnt have to be bypassed, just dont use the factory remotes on your car when you get the new alarm installed.

I don't know then...

They told me that they couldn't install it because of something to do with the factory one...

If that's true then I will have to go back out and ask them about it again.
