I am either going to purchase 2 12 inch MTX Thunder 8000's or Audiobahn's Flame Q 1206T(I think that is the right number) Anyways the Audiobahn's are 1100 watts RMS while the MTX's are only 400. I have heard that the MTX's will be louder though, is that true? All I want is for them to be extremely loud!!!! I listen to alot of rap, but I just want to be heard a long ways away. I also want the best quality one between the two also, tho.
alrite i have a mtx 9500 witch is bout 4 times louder that tha 400's its 1000 rms and i talk to mtx and then said that they havent got i speaker back sayin tis blown or wat not.. i love my sub! and its loud!!!i heard the audiobanh is also real loud but the tend to blown if too much watts at costant bass... they sell this kit that u can replace ur intenals of then sub like the cone and other @!#$.. but yea my pont i think mtx 9500 is the way... i only have 1 12"in my cavy and its loud. louder then my old subs aleast i had 2-L7's solobarics... they were loud also. but thats jus wat i think...
Yeah I heard MTX is a little better quality, but I want loudness. I am talking about MTX 8000's not 4000. So is your 9500 SUPER loud?
I definitely prefer MTX. They have more cone space, more bling factor, and Audiobahn has a nasty habit of only performing well if they get at least the wattage they are rated to, whereas MTX (and most others, for that matter) will still perform underpowered, just not as well. Audiobahn is great for super boominess, if they have the power, but I've never heard an audiobahn that I would associate with the letters "s q"

I had a single dual voice-coil Thunder 8000 12" in my car. I only had an old Rockford Power 300 pushing it and it @!#$ pounded. You will have no problem getting loudness out of the MTXs.

I'd put mine against anything anyday, soon as the new box is built (looks like next week)
BUT, to the question at hand, it's true. You'd be VERY happy with the Audiobahns, IF you can give them the power they want. If you have a smaller amp, you'll be happier with the MTX.
yea im trying to sell mine 12' 9500 mtx !! anyone wont it !!! $400 for jus the speaker any where u go.... and u need a custom ported box for it or else it will choke.box cost me $200 to make... jus make a offer......im only pushin 940 watts and its soppose to be a 1000watt rms i have a freind has the same one as me and he is pushin 2500 watts and hits super super hard..has it in his Rsx . this speaker a competition speaker so thats why they handel so good
if you go with the audiobahn spend the extra and get the 1208 its well worth it, i got one in a custom made ported box for my cavalier and i am running it with about 1000rms watts it hits 143.6 db i won all of my competions with it
