Help with amp selection. JL 500/1 or e1800d.......

Hey guys, I am in the process of redoing my system, and would like to upgrade my subs from the 12W3V2's that I have now. I want to run 2 JL W6V2's and would like to use a JL amp to push them. I have narrowed it down to 3 choices.

1. Use a 1000/1 monoblock amp from JL
2. Use 2 500/1's, 1 for each sub. They automatically select the correct ohm load inside the amplifier, and are good for 1.5-4 ohms.
3. Use 2 e 1800d's. They will put out 800 watts RMS, but the subs will need to be wired so that the voice coils are in parallel at 2 ohms, which isn't a problem.

If I use the 1000/1, I will get 500 RMS per sub, and not have to worry about having two seperate gains and x overs to deal with. With the 2 500/1's each sub get's it's own amp, and the price is about the same as the 1000/1. I'm leaning more toward the 2 e1800d's because at 2 ohms, each sub will get 800 watts RMS, and W6's like lots of power. I am trying to make this system a mix of sound quality with good SPL numbers, but don't want to go overboard. I would like good, clean power to run these subs, but can't figure out which amp to get. Any input/thoughs/suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Paul Moore

go for the 500/1's. that's prolly the best thing JL did. those 1000/1's are a joke.

Why do you say that? Both amps will put out the same power(1000/1 vs 2 500/1's.) What is your opinion on the e18800d? Do you think that they will put out clean power because I know that the W6 needs at least 400 RMS to play efficiently and have a 1000 Watt peak rating. The 500/1 would just be above what it needs to play right whereas the e1800d will give it 800. I don't think that 800 watts is too much to run those subs.

Well first of all the subs don't NEED 400 watts, that's just the thermal rating of the sub. I would get the 2 500/1's and call it a day. You probably don't want to get the e1800d's, that's twice the RMS rating and would probabyl fry the subs if you didn't have them in a large box. If you get the 2 500/1's and build a good box you'll be wangin in no time.
