Amp mounting suggestion

OK while I have shopped a few amps out to power my components, something hit me earlier that I hadn't thought about.. Where to mount the amp. I'd considered under the passenger seat, but I don't know how much room is under there, so I don't know what dimensions I should be looking for. I'd preferably like to mount the amp somewhere close to the front so I won't have to run long lengths of speaker wire, but if I have to mount in the trunk then.. I have to.

well, the passenger seat has about 5 inches of clearance in a 96, so it's probably close to that in your 01. I wouldn't look for anything bigger than about 10 x 10 in size though...there SHOULD be enough airflow to keep it cool, but it's not a lot of room. You may end up with it on the rear of the back seat, or in the trunk.

Should be fine under the seat as long as it stays cooled. But if it doesnt go there, make sure it stays flat or close to flat. When those things get hot they get testy if they're on their side.
