Why Does It Rattle With Door Speaker?
Tuesday, March 29, 2005 6:32 AM
I put new speakers in my GF car and they rattle in the door panel. Why is this and how do I stop this. They are Pioneer 6.5s, or maybe 5.5s gotta check and I used the existing mount but I modified it, how do I keep it from rattleing?

Thanks
Chris

is the cone of the speaker hitting the plastic door panel.....that is the biggest cause of rattle

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you tried!

How did you modify its mounts?

you either have not securely mounted them (and i mean securely) or there is something that is making direct contact.

as raptor said or the third way is u have decent power and midbass from them, and it is causing the aluminum can thick doors to vibrate.

so either your speaker is not secure, your speakers is rattling against the door panel. or the speakers music is causing the door to vibrate.
