hey guys,
i am about to out install two kicker L7's ran by a 1300 watt RMS Ma audio amp into my cavalier. T he subs are in a vented enclosure and i was wondering in anyone had any experience in which way is better to face the subs (towards front of car, into passenger compartment, or the traditional way, towards the trunk) ? Thanks!
I think part of it depends on if you'll have the seat folded down when you're thumping. I had them both ways in my Avenger. But since I always had the seats up, I had to play with it to make it where I wanted it.
Try both ways and see what sounds better to you.
i like it facing the trunk with my seat up...bc the l7, if its right there behind u...it douesnt sound that great...my friend has an ext cab f150 and its facing towards the front and it doesnt sound as clean as it did backwards
Face them towards the rear.
I origionally faced mine towards the car, so I could see them when my rear seat was flipped down.
I then relized, that when my seat is up theres is about... oh... 4 inches between my subs and my seat.
So now I have them facing into the car, but I leave the seat up. GREAT sound.

the best way to me is face them uot towards the trunk that way the bass reflects back instead of hitting the back seat but with anything its personal prefrence
i agree with im, t just makes more sense
i had my 15 inch eclipse in the back of my jetta facing inside the cabin. girls had WAY to much fun sitting in the back, but it sounded alright. i normally kept it facing the trunk, i like the sound better PLUs, its a 15, its great too look at. sometimes in the summer i would pop my trunk ever so slighty so you would really feel the bass, its a head turner for sure
towards the back it sounds better unless you seal the trunk off from the cab.
Fast isn't always good, looks and sound is sometimes better
