any ideas for arrangement?
Sunday, March 27, 2005 7:23 AM
I was wondering if anyone had a good layout plan for two 12's , a cap, and one amp? Any simple, yet good looking ways to mount these things? I have a 97 cavalier...

Mount the amp and the cap on the back of the seat with all wires under the carpet.

Put the subs in a box. Simple and clean.

depending how big the amp is and if you have problems with your trunk you can remove your passenger seat mount the amp under it, then run the wires, then you can mount the cap against the center console or in the trunk on the inside of your fender

drew he means if ur trunk (for instance, leaks water or something) and u cant put it in the trunk, depending on how "small" the amp is you could mount it under the seat

I wouldn't recommend mounting an amplifier under the seat, due to the lack of air flow in that area. Yes, I'm aware that people have done it, and never had a problem. However, are you willing to take that risk with 300 dollars worth of electronics?

if its an amp that creates a lot of heat, then thats a BAD idea. typically amps with better efficiency, and lower current draw, will work just fine under a seat. myself, i would never do it.

i'de never put an amp under the seat..... spilled drinks, stuff like that can get messy.... back of the seat in the trunk i think is the easiest place and most common on J-bodys
