Im going to be building a sealed fiberglass enclosure for one Kicker S15L7 15" Dual 4-ohm Voice Coil Subwoofer. It says build it anywhere from 1.5-6 Cubic feet. What do you think would be the loudest and best sounding size for a cav? Also...what material should i use as the first layer that will be stretched arround the MDF ring and bottom of box? Ive heard Nylon, Felt, cotton T-shirt, etc, Whats the best? Thanks guys!!
Here are the specs.
~ Aluminum deposit cone
~ Non-resonant aluminum basket
~ Santoprene rubber surround
~ Dual 2-ohm voice coils
~ Frequency response 18-100 Hz
~ Power range 1000 watts RMS (500W per coil)
~ Peak power handling 2,000 watts
~ Sensitivity 88.5 dB SPL
~ Top-mount depth 8-3/16"
~ Sealed box volume 1.5-6.0 cubic feet
in the specs it says Dual 2 ohm voice coil....thats supposed to be Dual 4 ohm Voice coil...
just use grill cloth for getting your shape. and reinforce it from the inside out. then you won't have nearly as much work to do on the outside sanding.

anything that stretches well can be used, if its a basick shape fleece is good to use, if its something with allot of bends and twists, i'll use a thinner material somewhat like speaker grill cloth.
for your enclosure, i'd personally call kicker, tell them what car u drive and what your looking at doing and theylle design a box sized right for your application.
