Hey,
I have an MEI amp that is 240 watts max and I know it's a 2 channel amp. I want to use it to run my infinity front 6.5" speakers. But I bought it from my cousin who doesn't have the box, or instructions or anything else with it. I can't find the brand or amp anywhere on the internet. I want to know the rms wattage for it and if it puts out at 4 ohms x 2 like i need it too....does anyone know how? or does anyone have an MEI amp?
Any help is greatly appreciated...
Gary
You can calculate the RMS using this equation:
where the expectation value of x2 is given by
Notice that this can be solved using the identity
where I0(a) is
Therefore
and
Given that the classical turning point is 1/Öa the r.m.s. displacement is 1/Ö2 of the classical turning point. The classical turning point is the point at which all of the energy is potential energy (i.e. when the mass stops and turns around its velocity is zero and so all of its energy is potential).
Therefore
Sorry had to do it. haha, The best way would be to call the company or email them asking about your particular model #.
Hope that helped.
I understood all that... is there something wrong with me?
lol!

Well, since I'm an accounting major, and all I know how to do is add and subtract, can someone help me out with this ohm's law equation???
Gary
It's probably around 50 watts RMS per channel. Maybe a little more. Do you have the model number off the amp? Would help. That way, you can do a search online for that amp, and possibly find the specs.
Brakes? I don't need no stinking brakes....I have air bags

yes, use ohm's law. voltage squared / resistance=power
