XM Antenna Placement? Any Ideas

ok guys, so i just received my headunit and am going to be putting it in today since i am off from work, Probably in a week or two i will be purchasing the XM module and antenna but heres my question, Where does everyone who has an aftermarket XM set up have their antenna? I was looking for one that no wires are on the outside but i can't find it anywhere. Anyone with ideas, pictures, or experiences lol please chime in. Thank you.

Try going to the dealer and pricing the Factory antenna. I know you'll have to drill a hole in the roof, but since it's a factory look, it won't matter, you can still sell the car with the antenna attached. That's what I was going to do, but I switched over to sirius, and although they are compatable, they don't work 100% well together. JMHO.

My antenna is aftermark and cost about $60. It has a strong magnetic mount. And hiding the wires were easy.

I put mine in the bumper. Yeah, if you get hit, it will break, but you can't see it, and I've never had any problems with it.

Do you think that will work on the east coast though? I had my XM antenna on the rear deck, and always had trouble under overpasses. If the spoiler works, I will definatly give it a try.

I have an older Terk XM roof mount antenna, mounted on my trunk (you can see it in my pics on my cardomain site). At this point, I could care less how it looks. It is an adhesive mount, and the wires are also covered up to where they enter the trunk by the base of the rear windshield. Works fine, and even when I add a spoiler, it won't be in the way or anything.

Brakes? I don't need no stinking brakes....I have air bags

I'm on Long Island, and let me tell you, the signal has definate drop outs. Going under bridges and heavy trees usually knocks it out. But only for a split second.

Well, it's a satellite signal. Anything that physically blocks the signal from getting to the antenna has the potential to interrupt service. But, as Americonium related, it's only for a second (unless you go into a tunnel or something lol). There are supposed to be terrestrial antennas as well, though I think you have to have a dual-style XM antenna to take advantage of that.

No, they did away with separating the signals at the antenna, now they separate it at the tuner.

How the hell did you put it under the spoiler? Did you actually take the spoiler off, put the antenna on then put the spoiler back on?

I have Sirius, and I just threw my antenna on the rear deck, perfect reception.

Mine's on the roof, wire runs around the window and into the car, no wires showing. Almost never drop signal.
