Alpine CDA-7995 to Monsoon system

Well, I've got it all together now... my Alpine deck hooked up to the Monsoon factory amp & 8 speakers pulled from a wrecked 2002 Sunfire.

Since the 7995 is a pre-out only deck.. i used some old RCA cables, and cut them in half, then plugged them into the RCA outputs.. then connected the wires to the factory harness. I also connected the blue/white wire to the pink wire, so the amp would turn on. Works.. looks like hell, but whatever.

Only problem is.. every time I hit one of the buttons on the head unit... i get a really loud POP thru the speakers. eg. changing tracks, changing modes, turning it on and off, etc.

I'm thinking that the Monsoon head unit outputs something higher than the line level of the aftermarket pre-outs... but not as high as speaker level.

There's one wire I haven't got connected to anything. A purple wire that is supposed to go from the factory deck to the amp. Level control perhaps?

Anyone have any insight? I'm stumped on this one

you shoulda sold me the monsoon stuff ,

that happens with alot of the after market stuff and low level , usually the high level prevents that

i had that problem for awhile when i had my monsoon stereo hooked up to my amp through the high level inputs, and everytime id switch from cd to radio i would get a mini pop not a POP...so I got annoyed one hot summer day and checked out all my connections. everything looked ok, but i didnt solder anything. so i soldering all the connections taped it up and made the ground a little stronger and voila no more popping.

this may or may not have anything to do with why yours is popping though. it fixed mine

Bah, I'm getting a bad pop as it changes tracks too

I dunno what to do... I already tried adding a capacitor between the power and ground leads... no luck. boooooo

I suppose I can sell this deck and buy another with speaker level outputs...!

Nah.. then I'd have to have 2 amps in the car just for the speakers... plus mod the doors to fit the 6.5's... I just want something stock-like for daily driving... then drop the sub box in for shows... I need the trunk space the rest of the time.

Let's face it... i need a second car.. lol. No cash tho

is the pop maybe the sound the radio makes when you select something(more of a beep then a pop) cause u can adjust the volume for that. i forget how though
