Anyone with a CarPC in here?
Monday, February 28, 2005 10:06 PM
I need to wire up the power supply on my DC-DC Opus to the ACC and also to ground it. I'm mounting in the trunk so I figured I'd just ground right there. The ACC wire is what I'm wondering about. Where can I find an ACC wire in or near the trunk?

Their's no ACC in the trunk so use the wiper fuse and for the ground you can use the seat belt bolt or the bolt for the shock

Muwahaah. Car pc's are the devil! Mine keeps me captive, I am always messin with it. Make sure you supply the opus with a good clean power, I took a new line, ran it from the battery, then to a relay, and attached the other relay wire to an accesory. You can check out my car pc, even though its not in a Cavalier, here.

I just finished installing my car pc a week back. In dash touch screen with a laptop in the glovebox which slides out for easy use by passenger or for stuff that a touch screen just won't cut it for. I'm working on putting together a page with all my pics and methods for people who are interested.

If you have DRLs, cant you wire the power into the park lights in the trunk?

I'm working on a carpc for my new 05 Sunfire.. In the meantime though I'm using a Compaq Ipaq with fm modulator (soon to be removed and an amp installed)... I frequent mp3car.com which is a great site for all things carpc...

here's what my early version carpc looks like right now....

It's simple but works great for now... I'm going to keep the Ipaq in the car even after I install a full touchscreen system with gps, obdII stuff, etc...
