Ok, this is for all you old timers out there that remember....
I procured a DEI amp from my now brother in law, i got it for really cheap(60 bucks), and it turned out to be a really great amp. now, it isnt one of the new DEI amps, this amp has to be from the late 80s(maybe very early 90s?), it actually says DEI on it, and has a black case. 2 channel, variable crossover, gain, inputs and outputs, bridgable.
None of my buddies know anything about it, taken to a couple car stereo places and they cant tell me, and all my search results on the internet just turn up new DEI(mostly viper) products.
there are no model numbers, only thing i have are case dimensions which i can give, ill wait to grab em till i see if anyone on here even knows old DEI products. i used it as my first sub amp, and while it wasnt amazingly powerfull, it pushed my two old mtx 8000 12s just fine. i use it for my front components now, mainly because it sounds better than any other amp i can get for under 300 bucks.
if any one knows any of the specs or even wattages on this amp it would be greatly appriciated

Yeah a Pic would be great. I have a amp that im pretty sure is just like the one you have(from your description) But I bought mine in 2001.
the older directed 1100d's were pretty good for the money. Does it have fins covering the front?

it has fins on the top and sides, and on the ends are the connectors and controls. i cant really get a pic without a lot of work, it is hooked to the top of my sub box,lol...i have to pull the sub box to get at the screws to pull the amp, and to pull the box i have to unbolt it and unplug the cap, lol.
i can get a pic, but not till my next day off, i wont have time till thursday

there is a pic from the trunk, i dont have a top view
there is a red strip on it, that i painted on there so it kinda matched the car, origionally the case was all black. the paint was chipped and faded on the case when i got it so it was repainted gloss black with a red stripe on the corners.
that kinda gives you an idea of the size, and the look of the fins. the subs under it are 12s btw...

Old School MTX that what it looks like to me. I use to install them back in the day.
AM I RETARDED or AM I JUST OVER JOYED?
its not similar to my dei amp is it? heres a pic of it.
if so i bought that amp in 2004
laters

My car was made with wrenches, Not chopsticks.
i will have to get a top picture of it

no one recognizes it from my very poor description.
I do highly doubt that that is a 1100d, not nearly large enough nor does it have the power output, arent those around a 1000 watts or so? i think this one is prolly only 300-500 watts max...

I have the same amp as flaked Z-fire. The directed amps rock. LikeI said I've had mine for about 4 years now with no problems what so ever.
its alot the same, but differant and older. ill have to pull it off sometime and get a better pic
