My fiance is going to get Clarion VRX935VD In dash video system.

and she wants to be able to watch tv too... for our son. so i suggested a Clarion TTX7501Z

now is this tuner all she needs to be able to get a television reception? where does the tuner need to be mounted? is hooking up a dvd player mor difficult than hooking up a cd player? should we take it to a dealer, or can I figure it out?

You should be able to figure it out. The tuner can be mounted pretty much anywhere you can find room. It installs just like a CD player will.
