Ractive Volt Gauge, Tach, and Boost; install???
Sunday, August 22, 2004 6:04 PM
Well guys I got some ractive guages. The only problem is they were used so I dont have the instructions and my friend doesnt remember how she had them installed. I e-mailed ractive directly but got no reply.

They are the blue cf guages if that matters.

So first I have a volt gauge... It has a red and a white wire in a small black tubing, and the back of the guage has three places for wires (S, +, and -). Any clue how on how to install them (duh - for a ground) but like where to get the power from and stuff?

Second the Boost gauge, it has the small red and white wires in the black tubing and then the port thing for the hose. I just need to know how to make the back lighting turn on.

Third the tach. It has the same small red and white wires in the black tubing and then it has a red, black, and green wire. Any clue on installation? I have a tach adapter in the mail. <br>

i dont know bout the boost and tach gauges, but the volt is as follows:

+ 12v positive (if you only want this on while the car is running, hook it to accessory, otherwise constant)

- ground

S this is a wire that you tap in to the "circuit" that you want to monitor the voltage, if for a sound system, hook it to you distribution block in the trunk (if you have one) if not, hook to the power terminal on the amp with the main power wire. if this wont be to monitor voltage at a sound system, simply jump a wire to the "+" terminal.

I hooked up my volt gauge today and when I went ahead and wiring the S and I together, the voltage went past 18, but if I just left I hooked up and S not, it was normal, not sure what that is all about? BTW, I have it wired to the yellow wire on the stereo (12V battery).
