OK first off my car is a 2000 z24 Cavalier 5spd. I installed a tripple pod with guages yesterday Oil Pressure, Volt, and Air / Fuel Ratio. The others work perfect but the Air / Fuel guage is just going wacko lol. It keeps going from Max Lean to Max Rich ( click click - max to max ). I have it hooked up to the black wire coming from the O2 sensor on the header or aka the purple wire on the connector that plugs into the O2 sensor. I have no idea what is going wrong and I searched this and can't find anything besides how to hook it up so any help would be great. Thanks.
it's a narrow band AF gauge. They are pointless. Absolutely useless. That's all they do. They take the reading, which does bounce from one end to the other. It's not messed up, it's just how they work. They don't tell you a damn thing.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Well dont that just beat all lol. Thanks alot and looks like i'll be replacing that thing with another one. Any suggestions?? I have atm Volt, Oil Pressure, and Water Temp... I was maybe thinging Water Pressure maybe or Vaccum?
just buying a gauge to fill the space? you seem to have the vital ones covered, just keep that annoying bouncy gauge for now, I would say lol.

Narrowband A/F isn't completely useless. It's accurate under WOT, but otherwise yeah it's useless.
Yeah just getting another to fill that spot... Ya I could keep it there but just the clicking gets kinda old lol. WOT? Not sure what that stands for..
what brand do you have? i have a $20 OBX A/F gauge it mine and it doesn't click around like that.. idk maybe you have a crappy gauge?
If it's a narrow band AF gauge, when he's not at WOT, it will bounce like that, because that what the computer does on it's own by nature. Your gauge might have a buffer, or maybe it's wired wrong, but a narrow band should be reading like that when not at WOT.....
