Are there any brands as far as mobile video goes, that you guys suggest? I'm NOT looking for an indash receiver with a monitor.
As far as brands go I've seen Boss, Power Acoustik, Pyle, Lanzar, SoundSream, TKO, and Valor. I have no clue what brands are decent as far as mobile video goes, and I can't find many reviews.
So for those of you who have any knowledge about video brands, all input is appreciated.
well it depends on what you want, if you don't want indash.. what are you looking for?? visors, flipdowns... it would help if we knew what you were after.
Reason I didn't specify is because it doesn't matter. Anything can be made to work, that's why I asked for mobile video in general.
But anyways, the setup is going to be:
DVD Player -- Can be ANY DVD player because they can all be mounted wherever I want, but it's going to be hidden so I'm not going to pay extra for any extensive faceplate features (like a screen). Prefer standalones.
Multi-Channel Video Amplifier -- Pretty sure I'm going with a Valor 1 to 8, unless I hear it's complete crap.

Monitors -- Can be either Headrest Monitors, Visor Monitors, or Raw LCD Panels. I don't want any buttons on the front of it though, because I want it to look flush and clean after I mount them. Going to be 5 total.
Rearview Mirror -- Also contemplating a dual input rearview mirror monitor. One input would be from the video system and the other from a backup camera.
I guess the only things I'm not looking for are Overhead Monitors, flashy indash units, and monitors that have buttons on the front. Everything else can be made to work.
wow you are a rotten pile of @!#$ dude. Each of the 2 people who asked questions or gave advice, you have come back with a snotty reply. Not only am I not going to help you, I also hope no one else does. Learn to be respectful when you expect people to help you.

well i have a set of the pyle sunvisor monitors and the picture is actually a pretty good quality and 2 audio vox panel screens. i have a clarion video 1 to 7 video distribution amplifier. as to stand alone dvd player.. i'd find one that has the specs your looking for, whether you want to be able to play dvd-r's or music video files... cause some don't support them, be careful what you choose...
personally i did the standone player in the past and its a major pain in the ass... your better off going with a monitor and player in one. for 2 reasons 1. you get an addtional screen with more functions and settings....ect. 2. you will have a better video getting split at your distribution block. but thats your choice.
Lol, kinda knew JLAudioCavalier would show up in this thread in one form or another. For you to deduce that I'm snotty from a post, must make you psychic. My reply to Shaggy was nothing more than the truth. What I'm looking for doesn't vary the branding as far as the opinions I'm looking for goes. And Stephen didn't offer me any help.. Had he even read what popped up on the first screen of this thread, he would have known Eclipse makes nothing I want. Not saying they don't make good DVD flipout receivers, because they do, but I specifically said I didn't want that. Really don't care whether you want to help me or not man. You've got enough threads to troll as it is, cross this one off your list.
Thanks Shaggy. I had heard before that Pyle was decent. Going to stick with the standalone though, all of this is going into a 08 mustang that has a lot of work done and to be honest, we don't feel like messing with it.
Found some Power Acoustik monitors for a nice price. If they turn out bad, back they'll go. Also going with a Power Acoustik player. There shouldn't me too much loss of quality with it being standalone, because the player is going to be within a foot of the video amp, which will be within 3ft of 3 of the monitors, and maybe 7ft from the other 3 that will go in in the future. When it's all done, it's going to be a hidden dvd player, the video amp, 2 monitors in the trunk, 2 visor monitors, another monitor in the back facing forward, and a side-by-side dual input rearview mirror with the dvd player and a backup camera hooked to it.
Gunna cry some more? Not trolling the audio forum at all. I would say I give a @!#$ ton of advice here. Just not to snotty little pricks.

all those are junk, sounds like your cheap. makes since, your driving a cavalier.
Aww, that's cute. Looks like I hit a nerve. Pretty quick to defend yourself.
Stephen, if you think Soundstream is a junk brand, then you're an idiot. And yeah.... I junked that cavalier. Drive a Ram 1500 now. Good job at your failed attempts to insult me.
Both of you are welcome to continue your bitching, but just know I'm done checking this thread.
Cool.

soundstream makes audio, they arent videop speacilists. and yes pyle isn't that great a brand either so stephens remark was pretty spot on.
