goals? wtf do you need his goals for? it's going to be a class d mono amp around 1K watts no matter what he plans on listening to or doing..... unless the guy is competing and wants 5K watt burps, his goals don't mean @!#$ in picking which amp....box specs are going to be moot pretty much too.

Price range is really the big thing here. and do you have your electrical system upgraded at all to feed an amp that will put out 1K watts rms?

says that both coils must be connected to a amp source. the dual 2 ohm sub will generate a 1 ohm load if the coils are wired in parallel or a 4 ohm load in series. the dual 4 ohm sub will provide a 2 ohm load wired in parallel or a 8 ohm load wired in series.

what should i do for this sub to operate at its best?
im all new to these new subs, so dont get to frustrated with me on this operation.

Well you have the d2 sun so you have two options when picking putan amp, either 1 ohm or 4 ohm. I'd say the alpine mrp-m1000 would be perfect but its rated at 2 ohm. Let me go look and ill come up with a few options

The reason i ask for gols is because what if you want to compete some day, or get into car audio pretty hard core. your going to want some more power, so buying the extra power right now would be better than buying an amp that matches the sub now compaered to buying an amp that will drive the sub to its limits. i would suggest an amp that puts out your 1000 wrms at 4 ohms, i know alpine has one thats new and i think its pretty spendy, that or hit 1500 wrms at 1 ohm and tune it to 1000 wrms, i would also just build the ported enclosure from kicker on their website.

Don't pay attention to Anton, after a lil bit of research I found a few amps. I'm sure there are dozens of more out there and probably a majority of them cheaper but here's what I got.
1. JL Audio. 1000/1v2. 1000w @ 1.5 ohm. $670
2. JL Audio. T1000.1. 1000w @ 1 ohm. $250
3. Rockford Fosgate T10001BD. 1k w @ 1 ohm $480

again these are just a few but its a start. All this came from www.woofersetc.com. Check it out when you get a chance, it has a TON of brands there that will give you a nice selection to choose from

Sundown Audio Saz-1000D. I got mine for $355 shipped. Solid amp.

Run the sub at 1 ohm.

Nuff said

I agree with sundown. Def run at 1 ohm

DB-R.COM for all sundown products.

if your going to go with sundown im saying get the sae-1200, rated for 12v and this way he will have some overhead. jl audio amps are nice because they have the voltage regulators, but i would rather have a sundown!

also there is no reason to run a sub at 1 ohm when you can easily get the power at 4 ohms, better efficiency and distortion for sure! but i also would run it at 1 ohm, cause i dont care about either one of those.

Or email Jacob at sundownz@sundownaudio.com

I say no on the SAE-1200 since its a cheaper board than the SAZ-1000d which does more power at 12v.

a 1 ohm 1000 watt amp is going to be cheaper than the limited amount of amps that wll do 1000 at 4 ohms.

POWER AT 4 OHMS COSTS MORE. IT DOES NOT STRAIN YOUR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MORE TO WORRY ABOUT TO RUN AT 1 OHM. ANY KIND OF "DIRTIER" POWER WILL NOT BE HEARD THROUGH SUB BASS. TELLING HIM TO GET 1K AT 4 OHMS INSTEAD OF 1K AT 1 OHM IS JUST TELLING HIM TO SPEND MORE MONEY. WOULD YOU SHUT THE @!#$ UP ALREADY, NOOB.

Cadence quality is up and down. They aren't terrible, although their ZRS line is supposed to be built a little better than some other stuff they have come out with in recent years.

Also, let me know if you want to go higher end with your amp selection. If I remember right, Rainbow's DM2000 falls into your price range, as do some other high end brands. If you want to get something higher end rather than something "off the shelf" like Alpine, Kicker, RF etc, and also with more of a REAL time tested and proven quality standard over say the "omg it must be amazing because it's an 'underground hand made' product" like Sundown(btw a lot of those underground companies are started by people fired from bigger audio companies. All the designs are generic. Baskets, cases, terminals, even boards are all stuff that is readily available for just about anyone to toss together. Not downing Sundown, they might have a decent product, but it is simply IDENTICAL to almost ALL those "so cool underground cult fan club" brands.

ANYWAY, like I said, if something higher end like Rainbow, Zapco, TRU, or Synfoni peaks your interest, let me know. I would need to call my dealer to get pricing, and won't call him without someone actually interested in pricing. Hate wasting his time as much as my own. The dealer I go through is THE ONLY United States authorized dealer for a few of these big time brands, and he is THE US factory warranty hub for almost all of them. So trust me, I won't give out his info but I am not dealing with some shady 3rd party.

Hey jlaudio drop me a message please, in looking for a 2500- 3000 watt mono block to power my 15" BTL . I have about $770 to work with. I ordered a kicker zx2500.1 from a cpmpany but they jerked me around too much. I don't know if your dealer has anything in my price range but I would def. Like to talk and see.

He deals in a lot of high end stuff, which usually means catering to the SQ oriented guys a lot. Usually that kind of amp power is tough to come by in those sorts of brands, but I will see what he can come up with. It might be out of budget, but I will even check into strappable mono amps to get the power you want.

Im not sure if youre accusing me of nut swinging on Sundown or not but I only suggest stuff Ive owned. I hate it when people suggest stuff theyve never experienced. The Sundown boards are similar to the AQ boards IIRC.

no where near the sundown boards, they have a whole write up on the comparison between the aq3500 and the saz-3500 on ssa. you can just see the quality difference. but aq just redesigned the 3500 so who knows

Dual 4 or dual 2. If it's dual 2, then the Audiopipe AP30001d will wang it.
