they take long to provide you with a quality product that works properly every time you use it. after each assembly step it goes through quality assurance to make sure it performs correctly. they are also all hand made when you order them. that means all of there soft parts in the subwoofer arent made untill your order is placed. after looking at all of these things and how busy a small company like that is. its not a long period of time at all. plus right now i think the BTL's are on backorder for a month or so due to some parts not being in stock.
oh and any pics of the box??

A sub built today and a sub built 2 months ago arent any different.
I just built a subwoofer.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

Wrong. The sub is ASSEMBLED per order. Don't get confused on that. They are not MAKING their own soft parts, they are assembling them. They use a very common and popular generic basket, they also use spiders, tinsel leads, VC's, and surrounds that are made somewhere else I am sure. 99% of these custom built, "underground" companies do not make all their stuff in-house. They find what the feel are the best combination of parts made elsewhere and assemble what they believe to be the best sub for the application. I'm not knocking them at all, I actually think Fi has a couple decent products out there. Just making sure you don't get confused on what "custom built" really means. It means research, assembly, and development in most cases. Not one-off build's of each individual part.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

by soft parts i meant there patented stuff. like the BTL has an option called the I Heat ring, basically just an aluminum round piece. they make those in house. also the wind there own VC which is also done as you order. the basket is most likely purchased, and so is the cone and dust cap. but all i was trying to say is that they have to make the parts, and assemble the parts, plus ensure the thing works before it even goes into shipping. which im sure they make there own shipping boxes as well with the wood in the corners. there is just alot more work into building a subwoofer then people realize. and thats what takes so long.

Yeah I didn't go with fi on the belief that its 100 percent custom built to my order, I went with them because I feel their subs are amazing and I've never heard anything bad. I do have to agree with both lanman and anton in certain respects. I feel that fi is a high quality sub worth the money

Im bored of not seeing pics!
are their suppose to be pics or no? cause I dont see anything lol
Wait time on the BTL is up to 30 days I believe
sndsgood wrote:how long do they normally take from order to delivery?
its usually a few weeks. i got my BL in about 2 weeks. a BTL (which i believe they are on back order) would take about 2-3 weeks normally. but if they are on back order then its a lead time of 30 days like sundown fire said.

aw @!#$ no pics yet? I read this topic quick and thought it was about fox not box.
check back later for pictures.
FOR SALE
There's supposed to be pics but they didn't load up. And sndsgood, there's a 2-3 week wait for the btl's assuming there's no lead time. There was a 30 day lead time for mine but hell I got the cooling option and sticker pack for free! Oh and def first class customer care. Needed to switch the voice coil and scott himself called me. Def worth rhe money

WHY cut the sub hole after its assembled? i never understood that... i mean its way easier when its not assembled. less clean up

I always end up trimming my hole out bigger only the box is together. Shop vaccing isnt a big deal.
