Ok, I have a friend that has a beretta with a wall built in it. It has 4 MTX 9500 12s in sledgehammer boxes and hes running a hifonics golioth 5000 watt amplifier on them. I heard it the other day and LOVE it. Right now I have 3 audiobahn 1206Q competition subs in about a 7.5-8 cubic foot sealed fiberglass enclosure polyfilled about half way up running 3 crunch groundpounder 2000 watt monoblock amplifiers (One amplifier per woolfer). The box takes the place of my back seat, two subs have cone facing out and one is reversed with cone facing into the box if that makes any difference. I want my system to be about as loud as his, I know with audiobahn SQ will be much lower than the 9500s, but would like the SPL they produce. I thought about adding 2 more of the subwoolfers in the trunk in about a 6 cubic foot box running off of 2 more groundpounder 2000.1 amplifiers...do you think that would get me close to his level I guess is what im getting at here...thanks!

2 15" BTL's, on about 6000 wrms walled in a cavy would be insane. I would look outside of the mainstream brands and look for somthing that actually can produce what your looking for instead of just throwing 6 subs in a car for no reason when 2 subs will do the job.
check out ssa forums, ask around there for what ever goal your looking for, theyll point you in the right direction.

Well, id like to keep my audiobahns, as I like the look and all...ill post pics of my box later so you can see the angles they are at and everything. I love the look of them, and I am on a budget right now...might upgrade later, but right now it needs to be louder but budget minded...

Where to start.
Loud is subjective. As is always said there are a lot of factors that go into how loud a system gets. Ill agree with Anton. You probably could get louder than those Audiobahns with higher quality subs and less of them. Doubling of acoustical enegry will net you about 3 dB give or take. So youre maybe adding 6 dBs with an extra 2 subs and amps. Which you could gain with a better sub that will actually take the power its rated for.
Honestly axe the Audiobahn and buy something higher quality. Keeping them because they look nice is stupid. Sell them and use that money to buy new subs. Or accept that his is louder than yours.
Also 5 amps at 10k watts is going to be very power hungry. Unless those amps really arent doing what theyre rated for. Which I doubt they are. Start planning on more batteries and a bigger alternator if you actually are doing 10k watts.
First, you're running not so good subs. Next, you're running them in a way too big sealed box. Take 2 of them, just 2, build a good ported box, and you will be much louder. Finally, don't listen to Anton, he rides caboose on every bandwagon.
That would be more of a band train............
Ok. So what subs would you recommend? If possable, id like to keep the box I have now. Ive heard lanzar optis before, and ive heard 9500s, RE XXX, jl 12w7s...I need something of pretty good quality loud enough, and at a decent price, instead of spending $500 on one JL or 9500...basically...what could bump about as loud as his? Im not too concerned on beating him, just want something thats close to his...without putting the 10K +hes put into his system..

Well not always but money spent is proportional to quality of product. Look at my High Excursion Sub thread. Lots of suggestions in there.
My thinking is...I want good SQ, but also good SPL. The 9500s have a good mix of both in my friends car. They are CLEAR for being as loud as they are, and the volume was below half and the amp is less than half way up. The other concern is if I can acheive those kinds of SPL levels with the sealed enclsure I was talking about and 12s again, or if im better off building a wall and using a ported enclsure...but I wouldnt even know where to start on really how to keep the wall from falling lol..

do 2 12's, forward facing, seal them off from the trunk. You could run 2 lanzar opti 1232ds which would run you around 300 for the pair, and put one of those crunch groundpounders (they're groundpounders, right?) on each sub.

WTF man, just because i recomended a great subwoofer to him. i dont understand how everything i say is considered wrong.

If you dont understand how gain setting works I think you should learn the basics before starting something like a wall. But if youre set on a wall head over to stevemeadedesigns.com and look at some builds for walls. Theres a new one going up everyday.
another thing is the car. you can have two exact same systems everything the same including wiring but in two diffrent cars and have one be louder then the other. as said go with new subs. look at the enclosure, yours seems to be about twice as large as would be needed in a sealed application, look at gain settings, speaker placement. and just throwing a box in your back seat doesnt make it a wall. you need the front sealed from the back to be a wall. if its not your likely going to have allot of cancellation which will hurt your output dramatically. when you flipped your one sub so the magnet sticks out, did you remember to flip the positive and negative? if no thats going to kill allot of your sound as well.

Here are some pics of the setups, they were taken at cruisefest a few years ago, thats why dropjaw is on his.but the setups havent changed since then. And, I had no idea you were supposed to reverse + and - when the sub was reversed? Why is that? Also, I started looking at some subs today, and what is you guys opinion on orion HCCAs? I also looked at a few RE audio subs as well...
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
HCCAs had a problem with spiders separating with less than rms, not sure if they fixed that yet, and RE isn't bad. I like Optidrives, and I'll tell you why. They get loud in small enclosures, they're reasonably priced, and they handle big power.
You reverse the polarity because it keeps the sub in phase with the others. So when your two outside subs are going out away from your box your inner sub is pushing in which causes destructive waves so when you switch the pos and neg on the center one it makes then all go the same direction at the same time.
Those dont look like Crunch Groundpounders?
Ha, sorry, I forgot the amps have changed. Thats when I had my old hifonics. The only other kind of subs I was looking at was american bass. I had one once before and loved it, but it was in a HUGE ported box, and Space is a pretty big issue with a wall it looks like. Is my box okay I have now to throw some RE subs into?? Any suggestions on models?? The XXXs are a little out of price range, but not sure if the other models would be loud enough??Thanks.
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
Just look at recommended specs for the subs vs what your box is. But I wouldnt limit yourself by buying subs based on your existing box. It should go the opposite way IMO.
Most SPL subs dont do amazing in sealed boxes. If you want high output youll have to go ported. Basically I went from a sealed box to a ported box of about the saem size and the output is so much higher.
I think theres some guys doing pretty good numbers with Fi Qs on SMD. But Ive never had them personally. Theyre a more budget ended Fi. Theres hundreds of types of subs. You need to research based on what you want. High SPL subs generally arent very good on the SQ and vice versa. Im running a 15 Type R. Theyre relatively budget friendly and have a nice mix of SPL and SQ. Its not incredibly loud but it also does good when I turn the sub level down. Many people Ive talked to have had the same opinion on the Type Rs. Even though your current box is still too large for 3 of those. Oh BTW they look pretty neat inverted.
Oh ya your friends wall isnt so much a "wall" like I was thinking. Most walls are just an enormous box. Like 10 or 15 cubes. But it looks like his is just a fancy way to hold his sub boxes he already has.
FYI: 3 of your links all go to the Opti.

Hmm...sorry. Well, im looking into the brands SPL, soundstream, RE, the optis,MA audio. The soundstream terancula subwoolfers look like they would be decently loud, just not sure on if theyre a good brand, good woolfers? Anyone with experiance with soundstreams?
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
look into ascendant audio, i hear you can get some 12" subs for like 100$ a piece, i say i hear because they dont list prices...
also its a good brand cause its the same manufacturer as Fi

Also, the 12s are about $160 a peice and the 15s are $205 a peice...is a 15 really worth spending that much more for? I was thinking a 12 would be better for the mix of SPL and SQ anyway..
"Hondas are like tampons, every pussy has one!!!"
those 9500 arent as loud as they would be in a proper enclosure (it looks like prefab) so yea in a proper enclosure 2 12"s could be louder than 4 12"s
