Alright so I just got some diamond d6 components and installed them earlier today. Im not gonna lie, they sound like ass. Im pretty positive theyre hooked up right and im kind of dissapointed in them. My sony 6x9s sound better than these... Anyone have any suggestions on making them sound better? Did i do something wrong? Theyre getting 90 watts rms. Thanks

O and on the crossover there are 8 terminals. 2 for the input. 2 for the woofer. 2 for the tweeter. And 2 for RAV. What is RAV? I have nothing hooked up to it and I would look in the owners manuel but I dont have one.

are you sure you dont have the mids out of phase? (make sure you have all your + to + and - to - for your mids and the input on the crossover)
Also, where did you install them, the rear deck? in the doors? or are they just sitting on your back seat playing all "willy nilly" LOL
Give us some more info on how theyre installed and we can give you a better answer...
And if you have done this before - sorry for getting out the basic questions for ya...

by "ass", what do you mean?
i've heard a few installs with those comps and they can sound very good. I'd put money on install issues.

how are they installed in your car? are the mids in the kicks, doors? did you deaden the inner and outer door skins? where are the tweeters installed?
we need more information.

Yea im putting my money on my install job. I heard theyre very good components, but i guess i installed them crappy.

Theyre installed in the doors. I cut out a hole in the door and made circle MDF brackets to screw into.

Im going to go outside in a little and check all my wiring and im going to buy some dynamat and deaden the doors, Thanks guys. Ill let you know how they sound once I get all this stuff done.

Deaden the doors, make sure they are securely mounted and no major holes in your baffling from the front of the speaker to the back. make sure there is noting rubbing the cones, no lose plastic or lose areas in the door panel vibrating, check the wiring, double check the wiring, triple check the wiring, check your amp settings and repeat the steps from wiring on your amp, then also check the settings on the head unit just as many times. when in doubt, take it to a professional audio shop and have them tune and check things if you need to./

Alright thanks guys. I had my tweeters wired wrong like a dumb ass, so that took care of most of it. I think deadening the doors will take care of the rest.
