yes it definatly sounds better in person. and i should get some good sound deadening.
slo cav do you think that having the door open helps with flex?? i know that my sunroof hops arouind a little more with the door open but im not sure about door flex. as you can see my door barely flexes.

Never really had the chance to check out flex w/ or w/o door open. I'd think it would be less with the door open because of more air escaping. In that vid I had both windows down and the door wide open, I don't understand how it can move so much, yet when you go to move it by hand it is almost impossible. Just raw power.

I have a Fi Q 12. Maybe not as loud as yours but the sound is very nice, and when I build my new box this summer, it'll be more than enough output for any speakers I decide to set up front. I'll post up a video if I can find my camera. And I must agree that Fi is nice stuff.

My box is tuned to 32 hz, and still only on about roughly 400 watts, but still kicks everyones around here, excited to get the Sundown 1500d
i wish i had videos of the door flex i used to get. i could stick my hand in the top of the door and touch the glass.

With the door open and windows down, the sub and box it treating the sheetmetal like a Passive Radiator. You should drive down to the shop one day and let me hear that. I would like to see how it sounds in person.
These vids are from a Sony camera I had with NO MIC, I have a nice new camera now. New vids of my set-ups will for sure be up this year.

While "PUT ON" seems to be a hit, here is my Buddies Grand Am playing "PUT ON" with 6 12's in a wall, ported.

I took this Video with my new camera, it is 3 12" Hertz Hi-Energy subs and 2 1,000watt amp strapped. Also a 4 ch EP4 and 3 pairs of Components, 1 set in each door, 1 pair in the rear deck.

When I focused on the trunk, it was REALLY CLEAR at first. Then my Camera focused too much on the reflection on the Peg board on the wall and started to blur. I can't wait to make some vids of my set-ups this year.
I'm sure I will be down to the shop at least once this year to see ya, working on saving up for that Sundown 1500d.

i don't know if any of you realize this but flex is bad, it ruins your sound quality, if you guys had the same setup but reinforced everything so it wouldn't flex, your system would sound so much better. but thats just my 2 cents

not necessarily. some installs are actually louder with the flex. ive known lots of installs where somebody dynamatted their roof or doors and lost DBs. in theory you might be right. in reality sometimes it doesnt work that way.

agreed, i lost .7 db over deadning. But the roof on my silverado sounds horrible. 8 12's will do that

Sound quality and SPL are two different stories.
If you wanted a better SQ, Deaden away.
On some cars Deadening hurts SPL.
I went from 149dbs to 146 by using Dynamat eXtreme on my Grand Am in 2001. After stumbling over and over in my head as to why my numbers got lower I rememberd the only I had changed was adding Dynamat. So at the next db Drag I qualified with a 145 or so, then pulled off the eXtreme from the trunk and got my hands all cut up. What do ya know, right back into the 149's. I was also a person who DID NOT allow anyone to hold down my trunk or try to hold the car from flexing, the trunk lid acted as a HUGE passive Radiator.
My set up was 4 10W3d4's and 2 600watt Precision Power Powerclass amps, in a Sealed box.
