The cable that goes from the USB connector to the iPod started to go so I ordered a new one. Now another problem has presented itself, the cable is exactly the same direct from Alpine's warehouse yet whenever I connect it I get a "USB Device Error" message. Any ideas?
you are asking us rather than Alpine? They should be able to help you out.

I just figured I would try here before I take the car to my installer, cause most likely hes probably clueless.
Take it to the place you had it installed. If they have half a brain they'll swap your deck out for a working one to test because I'm pretty certain that, as long as your USB is plugged in fully, it should just... work.
Yeah faulty cable, we tried it on multiple units and it just wouldn't go. Naturally as things go, as soon as I ordered it the problems with my current cable became less frequent.
