THE REVIEW SAYS IT ALL.....WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT
The bottom line:
The Jensen VM9312 is a capable in-car multimedia device. For those looking to play digital audio and video on the road, this system is a good value for the money.
conclusion: you get what you pay for
nohting made by Jensen is "good"

Please!
Umm..... The VM9312 is a VERY good unit. For the price, what more could anyone ask for?
The only down sides I see are, only a 2volt preout. and lower than most on the RMS wattage output.
If you are looking for a AM/FM/CD/DVD indash with a 7" screen, GO FOR IT!
I've seen a couple of broken motors for the flipout, but that is 2-3 out of the hundreds I've seen. Small percentage.
Also, if you get the I-pod (J-Link) cable you will love it!
I thing I've liked about the Jensen more than my eXcelon flip-out was that you can actually TOUCH THE portion of the DVD MENU screen to make your selection. No need for a remote to use all the menu features on a DVD.
Works great in my friends van.

this does not make it good.
Its actually pretty good, I work in an Audio store and we carry several in-dash unit, and its very popular and also i the same as the one in my car. I dont have any complaints.
.
.
i have an older/lesser model (jensen VM9311TS) and the only complaint that i have is that the cd/dvd portion of it is sub-par at best.. half the time it will just say no or bad disk when there is one in there. fortunately i only ever use my iPod in there now... hopefully they have fixed the cd part

That IS the WEAKEST form of the Quote feature I've ever seen. Way to go on useing my post out of context.
Here is the ACTUAL STATEMENT.
For the price, what more could anyone ask for?
Good job!!
James (ROLN19S) (JuicyJ) wrote:Umm..... The VM9312 is a VERY good unit.
this part of your statement is all i need anyways.
calling anything Jensen "VERY good" = FAIL.
good job at promoting junk!
raodmaster head units's are SUPER good. what more could anyone ask of a $15 head unit?
whiteboy, yet again you annoy the piss out of me in the audio forum. You do not know everything(and appear not to know anything), yet you always give "advice". Stop. PLEASE just stop. James does have knowledge, experience, and even training if I remember right. I think in his position, I would trust him on this. I am seeing a lot of people popping up in this section that don't seem to have the knowledge they try to pretend to have. It irks me more than anything when someone either spreads incorrect info, or acts better than the people who are actually helpful in here. GTFO immediately dude, you haven't been able to come off as an inteligent or credible source of information in the Audio forum thus far, I would stop trying.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

once again you have ahard on for me. everyone else in the whole thread says that jensen is not good or sucks, but you pick me out of the crowd with your BS.
Im not going anywhere, so keep crying all you want
maybe wipe some of that sand out of your vagina
No one with experience with Jensen head units has come out and said that everything Jensen is trash. Their head units, especially recently, are not bad for their prices at all. And I trust James' input on this far more than some schmuck who has had a habbit of not knowing what he is talking about. I also have experience and can say that some of their head units aren't half bad. Affordable, reliable, and the basic features you need. They might not be Nakamichi sound quality, or Pioneer feature rich, but they are not complete junk. Not everything from a company is bad just because one thing might be. Would I ever run Soundstream speakers? hell no, but I sure wouldn't hesitate to use their amps if I was looking for a good quality budget system. Would I ever use Jensen speakers or amps? Hell no, but their head units are not dismissable in a budget minded stereo.

"some of their head units aren't half bad"
"not bad for their prices at all"
sorry, but these are not phrases that are going to lead me to believe that the product is going to be good.
youre getting what you pay for....which is exactly what i said in my first post.
here are the reviews:
"great when it works"
by Gary97TJ on November 30, 2007
Pros: easy to use, nice picture
Cons: screen quits working and most functions cannot be used without it.
Summary: good radio, nice video, was pleased with it until it quits working. replaced one under warranty (6 weeks wait time) and 2nd one has now gone out.
"it's just a cheap product"
by Genevo on January 16, 2008
Pros: The price was low.
Cons: it breaks fast, the loading is slow
Summary: Two months into using Jensen vm8022 and the display stopped working. It took me a lot of trouble to install it and now I had to uninstall it and take the trouble to send it back for repair. The whole incident's just troublesome and time consuming.
Ive worked at several audio shops and ran my own place. so i dont pretend to have knowledge. i have never given advice on something i dont know about in this forum.
this is the second time youve come into a thread ONLY to attack me. you come in not offering any advice, but sure like to think your GOD of stereos and try to smite me. not to mention the times you say that i have no knowledge were actually referring to OPINIONS.......which were asked for. so go take those fingers you have on your other hand and stick them up your arse ans apparently yout head is already there, so fitting a few fingers shouldnt be a problem
i trust James and CLaudiocavalier way more than you. james works in an audio shop (or used to) and has for a while. bothe of them know there @!#$. as ive seen on there.
as for your whopping couple of bad reviews. how many people do you think purchase this unit????? only a few bad reviews out of im sure a lot of good reviews
I do not use Jensen in my car, I spend a little more to get more.
However, I am giving my PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and gave reasons as to why i like it, also giving reason as to the downsides.
You are only giving "HEARSAY" as to what others have said.
I have worked at 2 Shops that both carried the VM9312 and VM9311 and the new 9311HD and LITERALLY only have seen 2-3 go back for warranty due to a defect. I've seen a couple where the people who oen them forget that it has a motorized screen and they pull it down and break it - How it that the fault of the Company? User abuse usually takes over more than defects on these kind of items. Mostly due to the Large amount of teenagers who have them in their cars and are rough with them. That goes for ANY BRAND!
I am actually going to purchase a Jensen Double Din for my DD to use in the winter as my other car is stored. Why? Because FOR WHAT I NEED IT FOR IT IS PERFECT!
Actually, the Jensen has more to offer out of the box than most other players.
Full Touch Screen
Remote Control
Video inputs/outputs
Rear View Camera input
Front / Rear/ Sub outputs
Media Link that can be installed under the dash or glove box for easy access to use your iPod or ANY AUDIO/VIDEO source.
Sat radio hookups for XM or SIRUS
Will playback iPod Audio and Video! with a $30 cord that plugs right in. (most iPod adaptors are more money and are more than a cord.)
Also the Picture Quality is actually VERY GOOD. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10
All than and more for less than $400 - GREAT DEAL
Shhh don't make sense of it. And don't talk as if you know what you are talking about James. He found 2 bad reviews gee golly gosh!
And, whiteboy I never claim to be a god, or say I know everything. I also do not come into threads just to attack you. If you are giving misinformation, claiming your opinions to be facts, or misleading people in any other way, you deserve someone to call you out on it. I am just the blunt, ass hole-ish person that doesn't give a @!#$ about your feelings to do it. So be it. And how the hell have I not helped? I stated some info about Jensen's head units BASED ON ACTUAL EXPERIENCE, NOT SIMPLY THE NAME BRAND. Who needs to get their head out of their ass? You are hilarious. I can see why it is "I
have run my own audio shop" and not "I
do run my own audio shop". I wouldn't expect a narrow minded, brain dead putz to be able to keep a business on it's feet for very long.
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

i bet his next attack on you is how crappy an installer james must be for installing jensen stuff. and how crappy of a shop you have for recommending jensen stuff. just watch. (grabs popcorn)
Lefix wrote:lol... listening
what are you laughing at? go buy your jensen
those reviews came form the link that the OP posted.
I have installed jensen, i have owned jensen. if you like Jensen thats your OPINION and Im going to tell you mine. I never attacked James. i dont know james and i could care less if he installs jensen. there is a market for jensen.low end. thats it. if all you can spend on a screen/dvd is $270....then by all means do it.
i dont need to justify my resume for you . talk all the @!#$e you want.
lol so youre just running around being pissed off because everyone knows that you don't know anything, i just asked about what people think about this headunit, you dont have to post you know, it's not like anyone is forcing you to
