Infinity's are not spl subs at all...and given that you have Power Acoustik in your sig and your other threads, I'd say that this doesn't exactly fit the bill of what you're looking at. This Kappa's are nice subs, clean and tight, but they don't hit very hard.
Never heard of SPL amps, but given what I just said, I'm pretty sure that it's not gonna fit the bill with the Kappa sub, either. Also, max wattage doesn't mean a damn thing really, you need to look at the rms value.
yea but im working on the "real" system build and just want something in there i just dont want to buy a sub thats sounds like crap for 100$ that would really make me mad. so you say they are clean and tight sounding subs are they reliable?
and i know that max doesnt mean anything i just know the max and really dont remember what amp it was but im assuming around 700 rms maybe 800 on a good day but i can get them both at a good price.

What is your Budget?
What do you have left to do ? Do you have the amp, and wiring already?
They are reliable, though you can't push them too hard...that sub only does 300-400w rms depending on the actual model, so a 700 rms amp will overdrive the hell out of it, and like I said, you can't push that sub too hard. Double check on the rms output of the amp again.
slocav-well the thing is that i love to buy and sell car audio (future business). so my budget really doesnt matter i just want to be able to resell the sub and amp for what i bought it for (approx. price) i just like to have various subwoofer experiences. and i have everything left to do i just settled on the amp and the design of the box so im going to start fabricating the box this weekend and i might get the shell done but none of the carpeting and completely sealing it and sticking the port in.
-and the amp was the
spl dk2-2000 and puts out 880 rms so probly about 600 rms, so with the gains turned down and some tuning i should be able to push that sub no problem with out blowing it.
thanks guys

Still 350w rms, and that's the Perfect, not the normal Kappa...it's an even better sub...I was looking at buying one, but I got too good of a deal on my Type-R to pass it up.
looks like the perfect svc 10 is acutally 400w rms

I don't know how much about car audio you actually know (doesn't appear to be a whole ton), but just because an amp is capalbe of 800 watts RMS, doesn't mean that is what it will always be putting. You are so much better off with an amp with way more power than the sub needs, than being right at it's recomended RMS handling, or below it. He can easily run a sub with an amp capable of double it's RMS handling. It is all in setting the gains correctly. Just like building a motor, tuning has everything to do with how well your stuff performs.
OP, it wouldn't be my first choice for $100 honestly, especially where you seem to be an SPL nut. You can find Type-R's all day long at that price. But it isn't a bad sub either. I wish I knew more about those amps to give you some advice, but how much are you able to get the amp for?
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

JL- I don't post unless I understand what I'm talking about...the point of that was to advise him not to push that sub too hard. As you pointed out, he seems to be an spl nut, and want him to be fully aware that he will easily blow that sub with that amp if he does decide to push it. For the average person I feel it's better to just match an amp to a sub so as to avoid the problem altogether. If he understands this, then there shouldn't be a problem (which he does seem to).
Um no actually. I appreciate you replying maturely unlike half of the easily offended putz's on this site. BUT, You will hurt a sub a lot more trying to push it too hard with less power than more. Sending 600 clean watts will ALWAYS be better than sending 300 distorted watts.

yea the amp is 100$ as well. i have no clue why im even thinkning about buying this set up but it just seems so appealing and for some odd reason i really want it. i still have my old one and have a plan to purchase the new setup( costs about 500$) in a little while probly a month. but i really want to try this sub out and see how good it is. plus if i buy the amp i can put off buying the amp i want for the mofos for another little while and break in the mofos with the smaller amp. jl- like i said your right i could do so much better for the price but my gut says buy it so idk. i might talk myself out of it.
