hey all sorry for the silly question but i must ask...
i picked up a set of alpine type s 6x9's(SPS-69C2) speakers and am going to pick up a set of the SPS-46C2 4X6's to match. i have an alpine CDA-9856 headunit and am looking to pick up an amp to power the speakers, i dont want subs and want to stick with alpine for the amp any suggestions would be great.. or should i even bother with an amp for these speakers???
thanks alot for any and all help...

I would honestly give the speakers a try first w/o an amp and see how you like them. Your 6x9s are 50rms, and your 4x6s are 30rms. The alpine amp that will work with those is 40rms x 4, so your speakers will be getting a little over twice what they get from the headunit. Will you notice a difference, probably. Will it be huge and worth the price of the amp, RCAs and power cable, probably not IMO. So like I said, give them a try first and see how you like them. Or see if theres a local alpine dealer around that has a setup where you can try them with the amp and without the amp.
And here is a link to the alpine amp.
