How do i take out 2004 cavalier factory stereo

How do i take out a 2004 cavalier factory radio/cd player and replace it with an aftermarket cd/mp3 player?? Of course the install places say only they can do it and that it will cost me about 400.00 total. HELP!!!

unbolt the top dash pad and remove it. then unbolt the hvac surround/dash and remove it. then unbolt the cd player, take it out and unhook it.

just use a hammer thats what i did in my j and you can hardly tell. (oh and if you really do that post some pics)

Wow, that's a lot of fooling around to get to the stereo! Glad my Sunfire just has to have the 2 screws by the glove box removed!

the C4 explosive is definitely your best bet at getting it out, quick and effective...
