Hey everyone, I'm new to the forums (this is my first post, but i have done alot of searching and found a ton of help), but i made sure to search, and i came up with no help,,,, so on to the question, i just got a set of Kenwood KFC-5708C 5'x7' speakers off a friend of mine, and i tried and they do not fit the front doors,,, my question is, does anyone have 5x7's in there doors, if so how did you get them in?, and do you have any pictures?,,, oh, and what would be perfect would be some demensions for a bracket i could make,, and maybe, just maybe a diagram?
thanks in advance, [Russ]
I would say it's not work the effort. Yes the factory is 4X6 but the space isn't really there.
You would better off getting 5 1/4's or 6 1/2, thats what most people upgrade the front to.
And to answer your question, take the factory bracket off the car, trace it on a space piece of MDF.
then your going to have to size up the 5x7 speaker to the bracket, aka cut a hole
Cut, mount.
take off the factory braket and get your cut off wheel and cut out an inch all the way around the hole thats what i did for my friends car bc he didnt want to put 61/2's in
thanks, i was thinking i would have to get some MDF and trace it out,,, and if they do fit eventually, then it is worth the effort,, haha im broke so, anything is better than stock wow, i really need to get a job.
thanks again, [Russ]
mdf is your best option. probably upgrade to 5.25s or 6.5s when you can. you wont regret it.
"I did it because I wanted to see what it would look like. You should be greatful that I even told you that it would look good. If your to dumb to use photoshop and change the color of your own car then you don't need to see it changed. I'm not going to give my work away. I'll sell the pic to you though for $15."-Adam Kalin
^^JBO is about not being that guy
since your broke make what you have work....you gotta take off the factory bracket that will give you more room....your best bet is to use some type of wood....cut the general shape of the factory bracket (doesnt have to be exact just enough to cover the whole hole) and cut a hole for the 6x8 to fit. If thats not an option depending on how big the magnet is you can cut the hole a little bigger to make em fit...your best bet is to you some kind of spacer. Last option which i wouldnt do myself but you can always cut a hole to match for the speaker directly to the door panel.
