Door Chimes and Pass. Speaker Not Working
Tuesday, April 22, 2008 10:21 PM
Whats up? First off thanks for taking the time to check out my problem and thanks even more to those that reply with suggestions. Ok here goes. I went with the cheap harness instead of the expensive one for my 02 Cav and I knew the door chimes would not work because of it. But what I also found out was that my PASSENGER SPEAKER is not working at all. Is this because of the harness or another reason? Also is there a way to use the cheap harness and still get the chimes and my speaker back? I definetly want my passenger speaker to be working again. Please someone let me know!
thanks
beeef

I would just suck it up and get the expensive harness. I have the expensive harness with the door chimes module and i cant count how many times it has saved me from leaving my lights on or leaving the keys in the ignition. Everything will work out better and you will get your door chimes back. Im guess that your passenger speaker is not working because of a wiring problem. If it worked before your replaced your radio then you most likely wired it in wrong. ie: positive negitive speaker wires crossed. But if you dont want to get the expensive harness, check your wiring and if all of that is good, then use a multi meter and check for voltage at the speaker. See what happens, post your results.

i would double check your connections....which harness did you buy?? pop all the speakers from the harness using a 9 volt battery cuz with the Saturn harness the speakers are reversed( front on the harness are really your back speakers). Just take the positive and the negative from each speaker and touch one end to the positive of the batter and the other end to the negative of the bettery. If it pops the speaker is good. Also the speaker wire might have grounded out when you pushed your radio in...that would cause the speaker to not work
