hey guys. girlfriend picked up a 2000 sunfire...check engine light is on so i borrowed a scan tool from my old job and when i tried scanning it the tool said it was not hooked up to the vehicle. i unplugged it and plugged it back in, wiggled the plug around...nothing. her dad took it to the gm dealer and they got the same thing. any you guys ever run into this?...i am just wondering if there is something unplugged somewhere or is this gonna be a wiring nightmare. any help is appreciated thanks fellas

check your cig lighter fuse. it supplies power to the obd II port

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

only reason for "not hooked" up would be lack of power so check fuses, then use a multimeter to make sure everything is working ok.
