Hey I just got a pair of Jensen 6x9's from Target for $10 they are 200w, 40w RMS, 93db, 3ways. I don't care if they are cheap I just want some sorta upgrade from stock and I'm poor btw. Just wondering if yall think its at least better than stock or should I go get my $10 back?
what is the impedance?
I wouldn't place Jensen, much higher then stock but every now and then they have something good.
Remember get what you pay for
how poor are you talking? I bought a pair of Lightning Audio 6X9's at walmart for around $40. They put out amazing bass and they are also three ways. They are also made by Rockford Fosgate. I don't know much about jensen but I had a pair of roadmasters that came with my first car. I promptly changed those out, they sounded horrible. As a fellow poor man, my advice is to weigh the quailty vs. cost and that will give you cost effectiveness..cuz if you buy a speaker now..and later have a little more money and buy a new one..then you wasted your money on a mediocre speaker..I know I've done it. BTW..don't let the guys on here get you razzled..they all have their own ideas on how stuff should be done..most of the guys have spent three times the amount in my bank account right now on audio..just look around..especially check ebay for speakers..thats what I do.

and yet no one takes our advice, even when we say stock is better than spending money on x,y, or z.

btw..for the above post^^ I have read that same post about 20 times...we get the picture. Just most of us are ok with "ok" bass. Yeah I have Polk MMC6500's in my doors and they do sound amazing..I just can't afford another pair of high end 6.5's. I have not heard the difference between the bass my 6x9 puts out and the bass my 6.5 puts out. I will admit..those numbers are probably right..I'm sure a round speaker is alot more efficient that a oval speaker..makes sense..I just havn't heard it yet..
Ok first the impedance is 4. Also, I know they are crappy speakers, but I was just looking for a super cheap upgrade from stock. Their regular retail was $40 they were on clearance for $10. I think our Target is trying to get rid of their Jensen stuff cause they had Pioneer on the new rack. I would have gotten 6.5's but they didn't have any cheap ones so I went with the 6x9's. Belive me if I had money I would do 6.5's in back with components in the doors.
well to answer your question it SHOULD be better than stock but you wont know for sure until you put em in! so try em out.....they are only 10 bucks....and as a fellow poor man also i buy all my stuff when i can but i buy decent stuff....dont wanna buy stuff twice ....urgh!
