Mixing Component Set
Thursday, January 31, 2008 9:22 PM
I have a Kenwood Excelon 6 3/4 Component set up front, sitting in my deadened doors. Im not pleased with the Mid range of these speakers anymore, and I have began to like these Infinities . They have a total impendence of 2 Ohm, as do my Kenwoods.

Can I use the Tweeters from my Kenwood Set ( I love the highs, and they are drilled into my door) with the infinity mid range driver?

Would it be safe to assume that the tweeter and mid range in my kenwood set are 4 Ohm? If so, Are there 4 ohm drivers sold separately out there?

if your kenwoods you said are 2 ohm then likely the midrange is 2 ohm. you can buy seperare midrange drivers but be careful on the crossover slope or your speakers may not match up well.

How could I test the Mid range Driver for Ohms?

use a multimeter to test resistance.

I did some google searching, it didn't tell me how to exactly.
