ok im not all that informed on car audio but i get the basics
i have 200 bucks in gift cards from best buy so i was looking to spend that
im honestly not looking for anything to enter in compitition just something to turn some heads
i picked out some stuff from their sight so here it goes
sub - i dont know if this will be over the top?
deck - im looking for something like this but i dont car for satellite radio (i have heard tens will hit harder than 12s because they are smaller so less mass?) im not really lookin for 12s but seems like a good deal
speakers - there was no reviews on these some im not really sure///

the front and rear speakers are good, but i would stay away from sony xplod if your looking for even decent sound

Never buy from Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.
Check out local stereo shops and get something quality from someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
Go with 6.5s in the front. You can get adapters off eBay for like $15 shipped or make your own. You'll never go back to 4x6s, especially if you plan on amping 'em, I couldn't believe the difference. Stay away from Sony Xplod although, if you're deadset, the decks are decent. I can't say much about the subs except that Best Buy specials are not the way to go.
Sony xplod subs and amps suck. Pioneer for fronts and rears will be ok but not the greatest. Like said don't buy from BB or CC, go to a local shop you can see and hear better stuff.
Well since you have 200 bucks in gift cards from best buy, id suggest on getting a nice HU from them alpine, pioneer , jvc, eclipse, clarion even panosonic.
Then you can go to wally world and get you some pioneer 6.5s and 6.9's or shop ebay for some nice componet sets. Now if you can get a decent set of componets or the 6.5 & 6.9 from best buy you could do that also. But id recommend on getting a nice HU cause thats the source of good sound. After you have got the nice HU and factory replacements or componets, then you can worry about subs and amps. You'll be amazed how good a nice HU and a nice set of componets will sound!
did the two of you read what he said? He has 200 dollars in BB giftcards...cant spent those at a stereo shop...
then spend the 200 on a good HU at best buy and save up for some good speakers. Just because you have $200 doesn't mean you should cheap out on all the parts.
I'd buy a blender, a toaster, and maybe a few cd's
The sub package alone is $350 so he was planning on using the gift card plus his own money. A head unit would be a good route as long as you don't let any BB employee near your car. I'm still finding little parts of plastic clips that they destroyed while installing my head unit.

I would never go to Best Buy they don't sell my brand of speakers, and yes Jay T was right go get an adapter( I wish I did that instead of the 6x9 plates), anyways upgrade your fronts and stay away from sony and pioneer, go bigger and better you really get what you pay for. I have ran all MTX(most part), sony, and pioneer in either parents or family cars, but now I stick with Clarion( hopefully my system will be fixed before next season)

have some one you trust put in your system best buy and circut city really suck unless u know the guy. i got my cd player for my birthday their and now its comeing out of the harness they suck buns installing.
