OK heres my deal i had a 15" JBL sub and i wanted a new amp so i had a 4 channel boss POS so i went and spent 240 bucks and got a JL 500/1.

I spent all day making a box for the new set up and i end up blowing the sub....

Next day at work a kid is trying to sell 2 12" kicker CVX's i grab em and i hook up the JL and its hitting like a baby....

I grab his amp a Sony Xplod 1000w and they are hitting like king kong now...




any idea how a Xpold is killing my JL?

what load you wire them up to?

Sounds like you just didn't set the amp up properly, those jl's have quite a few settings to go through.

also what vehicle did your friend have?

theJL has a ton of settings, maby it just needed to be tuned correctly.
