anybody have used dynamat or fatmat for the trunk???which one is better to use??thanks
They both do the same thing; which is ad weight to a panel to keep it from vibrating. Go with the cheaper, but expect your car to smell for a week or two. I have Dynamat all through my interior, and a few coatings of liquid V-block on the underside of the exterior. No matter how much you use, you will still have some resonance somewhere. A big tip to reduce the louder rattles would be to deaden the back side of your license plate, and to remove the plastic film from the black vent in your door jamb near the latch. Those two items tend to make a lot of noise.

they are both the same pretty much. very expensive. but its all worth it. i also have my whole car lined in dynamat. but i also put a ton of cotton in the walls of the car to. sounds alot smoother after i did that.
Id go and look on ebay...extreme deadening is great. Its the new name for brown bread and its cheap and no smells..
i'm only planning to put in the trunk cause it's making a lot of noise from outside. anyway, thanks guys...
eDead from elemental designs. Goes on easier then dynamat and works very well. Before I applied it to the trunk and rear deck, my 6x9's used to rattle the deck, now the sub doesn't even rattle it.
plus its a fraction of the cost of retail dynamat.
Rudy did a great comparison of sound deadeners that you should read:

There's alot of good info to be had in the RoE sound deadener subforum as well if you're curious.
