I have a Panasonic in dash DVD player. It has a 4 digit security code you have to enter when ever the power is cut. The only way to input the code is with the numbers on the remote. I hooked it all up in my garage to test it so I can sell it, it has been out of the car for a year and a half. I replaced the battery in the remote and tried to input the code. Well either the remote does not work or the remote sensor in the head unit is not working. Does anyone know how to test the remote and see if it is putting out a signal?

shine the remote at a camera or a video camera and click and hold a button.. you should see light that comes from the remote in either a picture or live video.. it should be a blue light and that will tell you if the remote is putting out signal.
