Hmmm... Try the S-truck accessory cradle for the same engine, or improve the design capability of your charging system. They do make 200amp output CS-130a alternators you know.

It's probably a show car similar to the vans that some companies have (Pro Audio around here had a small conversion van with a wall of 15" subs, it had to be plugged in every night).

Wall of subs? Hah! I remember when the "Boom Car" craze started showing-up my local favorite cruise spot. All those cars with mega-buck systems crankin' music I couldn't dig, so I decided to fight back... low-buck style!
My dad was assistant scout master of my brother's troop at the time and had on loan the local scout counsel's PA (public address) system for an up-coming campout. The amp was an old tube-type but the speakers were 15"x9" Electro Voice fiberglass jobs that only needed 20w each to kick them. So, I took an auto-reverse in-dash stereo my brother replaced in his car (He's older than me, so...), borrowed a 40w 2-ch amp from a friend, bought some RCA-plugs from Radio Shack to connect them all and set the PA speakers in the back of my hatch facing forward, made a mix-tape that had "What A Feelin'" on it (Some guy in Cali at time time set a contest winning record playing it in a van's system to the tune of 153db, so it was in homage to him) then set-off to the spot. When I got there, there was professionally built Astro minivan with a wall of subs pumpin' Madonna's "Vogue" and a few now regular others strutin' likewise. I pulled slowly up to the van on it's open (door) side at the back of his crowd and let the pop fly! Funny thing about the setup I had was it wasn't just loud, it had LOUDNESS to it (Re: clarity) so it was heard over everything. They guy with the van, who was at the moment inside it workin' it's controls, just sat there staring at me until finally he nodded his head and gave he a thumbs-up. He could hear me over his system! Feeling I've achieved satisfactory justice over a ridiculously expense trend that was showing it's ugly head at my spot, I headed home crankin' Sammy Hagar's "Heavy Metal" to return the speakers to my dad. I owed him a listen of it playing revelry anyhow since he did need 'em back and needed to know how'd they sound.

Seriously, what's with the sudden willy waving contest?
Re: A/C pump Conversion to 2nd alt.

Not waving, just relaying how I had enough of those guys with there big-money systems dominating over my scene with their choice of music (Their choice, not mine). And how I shut them up by drowning them out with a system that didn't even cost me to build what it probably cost them for a foot of the overweight wire they would typically use in their systems. Sure, I could have spent what they did, built something like what they built, but at that point I might as well have started playing the kind of music they played because I would've been just like them: Big-buck show-offs! The whole idea was to show them up with something greater that cost less than what they paid, like getting a higher model of something that someone else has for less money. Like getting the next generation computer that comes at a lower price than the previous one. I achieved my objective, and "I did it mmmyyyyyyyyy wwwaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy"! End of story. Later!

Just make up your bracket using cardboard, and have it machined out of steel or aluminum. It's not very hard to do.

If you can make a template, i have a buddy that can laser cut it for you.

well i guess since dude in the van gave you a thumbs up.....then geesh, must have been the loudest system ever.

i assume this also took place outside of a salvation army where you all proceeded to shop for clothes and christmas gifts

^^^^No, outside the GAP you shop at, ya 'hole! Obviously you didn't fully grasp the situation or read the second posting. The situation: Cruise spot: Burger stand in affluent Chicagoland neighborhood. Other guy: Professionally built system built just to thump blasting some Madonna dance track. Me: P.O.'d with them all and their mega-buck audial domination of the scene and now you too! If you can't follow the story then STHU with your half- thought-out comments. And oh, does Sound Designs (Not "Sound Design") sound like a cheap company to you? I should go on to meantion that this all took place in the late '80s, at the begining of the "Boom-car" craze. I just think it's laughable that all this money ($$$$$$) can be spent on a system just to show-off that can be one-upped by a guy with only a few bucks for connectors and loan of a few choice pieces that assembled created an alchemic result. It's almost as funny as you look in those "trendy" clothes your ma-ma dressed you in. Now I know you are just as stupid as you look! Eat it, pretty-boy!
