decent cheap 8 inch infinite baffle sub?

OK, just to set this up, I know my stuff with audio, and this is not looking to cheap out on a system I'm building. It's for my work car, which I don't own. So please don't post here if you're going to start telling me that IB setups suck, and I should be building a box, etc.

Here's the deal: I drive a 2004 Taurus all day. The system is all stock, which sounds weak, of course. I noticed when getting something out of my trunk the other day that the rear deck has a spot for an 8" speaker in the middle. I figured that throwing a cheap IB sub in there would make my system sound a little better. I have a cheap low power amp sitting on the shelf in my garage, so I can run it off that. I'm not looking for serious thump, but some solid low end would be nice. I'm just looking for some input from anyone who has used or heard a speaker they recommend. Again, not looking for something crazy, just a sub that someone has used in an IB setup that sounded decent and wasn't expensive.

If no one knows, oh well. No big deal.

Again, I know my stuff so please don't start telling me I need to make a box. This is my work car, and I use the trunk all the time, so not only do I not want to invest much money in this, but I can't go throwing a box in there either.

Now you really got me thinking, infinite baffle is so 1990's. See if you can find a kicker comp freeair maybe?

Yeah, I know I haven't seen them much for quite a while. I wasn't sure if they pretty much stopped making them, or if I was just no up on the newer ones.

elemental designs subs are good in IB applications. But i will never buy one after my experience with them. Some people have luck with them and i did not.

theres a measurement that will tell you wether it will be good in a ib setup im wanting to say anything over .70 qtc but i could be way off on that one its been such a long time since ive talked about an ib setup. might check ebay kicker or mtx someoene may be getting rid of an old one and it would be pretty cheap.

Funny, I'm planning on putting some ED subs in my Cav, but I thought they liked small boxes. I didn't know they had any performance in an IB. I might check that out.

I'm going to search eBay to see what I come up with. I know CV used to have a pretty good IB design in their Stealth series that wasn't too expensive, but that's long gone. I think they discontinued it about 10 years ago.

Thanks for the input guys.
