I put my 8 "Kicker's where my 6x9 are and man they hit hard.. with out hardly any modifications, now trying to put some 6x9 and tweeters up front.
cookie? why do you want 6x9s up front? do a comp set in the doors and kicks and be done
yeah the kickers hit pretty good. what are your crossovers set at?
14.82 @ 97 mph
i didnt want to hook up my amp because the amp i have puts out to much power so it is running from the wires for the 6x9's looks stock which is good.
8" speakers running off a wopping 45 watts i assume and it pounds huh?
k
Interesting. A speaker that requires a baffle in an infinite baffle setup hits hard. 23 watts rms never sounded better i bet :~). I have some 8's running off of 225 watt rms and they don't "hit hard", i must be doing something wrong.
wow. how long do you want your headunit to last...
you can hook the amp up to the subs, just dont drive the @!#$ out of them..

well i have 2 10" subs running off a 200 watt amp, no cross over or nothing not bridged. and each may be getting 60 watts each maybe. and it hits pretty hard. 143db
i find that seriously hard to believe
i call BS on several of the posts in this thread...
especially ^^^ that one

so do i but if you have the right box it can but i get that alot. no one really believes me either untill they here it. but yeah have your doubts its cool.
you do realize that is like world record number for that much power right? enlighten me on this "right box"

You just dropped them into the 6x9 hole? I hope you installed them properly (baffle, fully sealed, etc.) What does your amp put out (RMS not max/peak/if lightning strikes power)? And listen to n8ball2013, 6x9s sound terrible to begin with, let alone as the heart of your front stage.
Cory Kostura . wrote:wow. how long do you want your headunit to last...
The head unit/amp puts out power, speakers don't "pull" it, the only thing that would kill the head unit is running it at a lower impedance than it was designed for.

So you're running 2 10" subs with about 60 watts each, full range, in a regular bandpass box sprinkled with fairy dust? If it was that easy I would have been world champion when I was 8 with my electric Jeep. Sorry dude, but what you're claiming is physically impossible.

huge diffrence between a dedicated amp and a headunits power output. youd be getting closer to 200 watts where as the original poster is getting more like 12 watts per speaker big big diffrence, can't even really compare the two.

^^ yeah thats right. because i tried hooking the subs up to the deck and yeah lets just say that was not happining. so i bought the infinaty amp. works great
I just laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur. I need to read the forums more often.

that right there makes me KNOW that they havent a @!#$ clue what they are talking about. just because a box is big, doesnt make it any better. if that was true, then putting those 2 tens in free air in your vehicle would net the highest spl reading ever!
unfortunatly they are wrong, and thats not always true.

So what meter was this on too. God please say an AC
ill try to get proof here soon. i really do respect you guys thoughts about this bs as yall say i would to. but thats what i thought about them to. but any way ill try to get some proof of some kind in the near future. but give me some time. sorry for the big aggravation i started. but it's all good.

yes with a little cutting the dropped right in, just sitting there as if they came that way.
and i didnt mean they bang like 12's or anything i meant they hit hard for running on stock, and i had 2 12's and ran them off of a 320 watt amp didt put full power they hit hard... but the box had a lot of room for air....

Dave, all mods should be able to change the title of such mandatory reading posts to "check this" as well, will give people a nice road map to the
good stuff
