OK. so i have a voltmeter and have for some time. when i first put it in it read correctly and i never had a problem with it. (this was 2 years ago) after a while it started reading in the low 13's and sometimes the high 12'sso i figured it was the gauge so i bought a new one. put it in and it did the same thing. so i figure. ok. wiring. i rewired it and it still did the same exact thing (about a year ago). so i bought another new gauge againt that matched my A/F ratio gauge and it still reads wrong. so i checked output of the alternater altho it was a new one. it read 14.4. so i checked the bat. 13.84. i checked the fuse panel where i wired it in and it read about 13.6. but the gauge still reads wrong. does anywone know why it would do this??? im thinking this weekend im gonna wire in a relay and run my fuse panel (extra one that i installed) off the Battery voltage instead of the Fuse panel voltage inside the car. would this help the readings at all???

you cant adjust this one. at least not that i know if. this is an Equuis and as far as i know theres just a screw in the back that holds the gauge together. its really pissing me off tho. the voltages jump arounda @!#$ load.
I had an Equus (or however its spelled) gauge and it was fairly sensitive to voltage changes. It would fluctuate on a drop/rise with the turn signals. I've never really trusted 'em after that.
Depending on to where you have the power wire hooked up, there may be a voltage drop on that wire.
Use the power or signal wire on the gauge, try to find the most accurate reading on whatever circuit you plan on using, and if its a 12v+ constant instead of switched, use not only a relay, but a fuse as well (just in case).
If that doesn't solve it, switch brands of gauges.
