i just purchased a n2 for my car from a friend, and i was wonderin how to by pass the lock on it. he never had it bypassed. i had panasonics and eclipse flipout's before and i could bypass them, so any help would be great...i plan on installing this later in the week....

a simple toggle switch to ground should work fine....i dont think grounding the wire directly would work but you could try it. Im pretty sure your gonna need a toggle switch
If simply grounding the e-brake wire doesn't work, there's a trick using a relay that you can do to make it work without having to manually flip a switch. I don't know it off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone else around here does.

my jensen flip out wouldnt work witht he jensen bypass so i had a switch installed on the ground, we only had to do the sequence once and now it plays all the time
I thought on the Avic N2 that is used a GYRO and it actual CANNOT be bypassed?
Why does everyone want a dvd playing while they drive?
I have 2 screens in my dash, I don't EVER watch movies. Too much going on like DRIVING to be watching a movie.
i did read that it cant be bypassed, but i also read it could. i read about the toggle switch, and i read about soldering some wires together???
who said i would be watching movies while driving?????????? the reason i wanna by pass it is because i also read that you can not change your gps part on the n2 while driving. i dont wanna be pulling over to the side of the road to change the address for the gps, when i could have the other person do it. plus my gf likes to watch the movies while im driving...
any more help out there????????

it can be done.. you have to remove a label and drop some solder to make contact between two connections......but it WILL definately void any warranty the avic has

im telling you im almost 100% sure a toggle switch to ground would work....try it what you got to lose? the gyro thing is also in the d3 and its more advanced....supposedly it cant be bypassed....but guess what it can =)
I'm with James (ROLN19S) on this one... I thought it had the gyro as well and it can't be bypassed.
a toggle switch to ground wont work. its not that simple. someone has said one of the ways to get it to work but i believe there is another way. I'm just not saying how to do it.
they have to have a way to test them in the factory you just have to figure it out. it would take way too long to go through the procedure usually needed in vehicle for testing.
i did one and i had to open the unit and lock the gyro into place, its a real PITA!!!

This is the actual best way to do it if you know how to solder. There is a small label on the bottom.of the unit. You remove this and there is 2 metal connections that will be visible. You solder a small piece in between to connect them and it will play DVDs perfectly. Once again i state you need to be good at this because if you arnt you will break off the connections you are trying to solder together and it will be all f'd up.
Rollin - it is pretty simple why I would want to watch DVDs while the vehicle is moving. To shut my wife the hell up on long trips. Just because people are asking in here and such doesnt mean they are trying to watch a full length movie while going to the grocery store.
