price advice

hey guys, need some help. a guy at work is selling a bunch of JL audio stuff. he wants $1200 for it all (obo). i don't want to lowball him with an offer so i was hoping you guys could let me know what a fair price would be for it all.

he's got three 10 inch JL Audio w0 subwoofers in a sealed enclosure.

he's also got 2 JL audio amplifiers. i'm not sure if these are the model numbers but he told me one is 400.2 and the other is 800.4

anyone want to let me know about a price i should offer?

much appreciated.

So, he has 2 amps, no speakers, 3 10 inch subs of JLs lowest model (not a terrible starter sub, but it IS their lowest model that sells for about $100 bucks when it was new), and he is asking $1200? I'm going to assume he is pulling your leg on the amps, because JL never made any model numbers with decimals in them. AND they never had amps with those ratings..... just for shlts and giggles, Here is what I personaly would do with $1200 bucks if i was just starting into car audio and wanted a well rounded system as good as I could get for that price:

Head Unit: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-KaENF1MG9j9/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=300&I=130DEHP490 $180(free dash kit and wiring harness and shipping too)

Front Components: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1236 $300(will not find a better set of speakers for this price, once these things sell out, that's it for brand new, PG doesn't make em anymore )

Amps: 2X http://www.cadencestore.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=125&idproduct=382 $129(this sale on Cadence TX amps is another awesome deal that right now, for quality products, kick ass custoemr service, big warranty, and all out performance can't be beat right now)

Sub: http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=31 $100 (good all around sub, put it in a ported box tuned to about 29hz and it is beautiful!)

So that all totals less than $900 and that leaves room for an enclosure and baffled for the front speakers and sound deadening. If you are seriously looking into upgrading your sound system, and are going to be needing any enclosures or baffles made for you, let me know, I'll point you to someone i trust for every wood working need I have.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

thanks for the help bro, but i was mistaken on model numbers.

subs are used, amps are new in box.

one is a 250-1

the other is 500-1

onlinecarstereo.com has the 250-1 @ $339 and the 500-1 @ $379. thats $718 just in amplifiers.......

any changes in opinion?

so 700 in amps. 300 for subs (100 a piece) and a box 100 so that only equals100 brand spanking new and he wants 1200?

maybe offer him like 150 for the subs in the box (their w0's their botttom line sub, they arnt' spectacular)
and maybe offer him 450 for the amps. yeah their new but hey once someone buys them they price goes down just like a car.
