My front speakers didn't work when I bought the car, 02 Cavalier, had an aftermarket player put it, still don't work. Both right and left speakers. I'm praying that its not a blown channel. GM wants $75 just to run diag. Ne suggestions on what to do?

Was the aftermarket, Deck installed when u bought the Car?. Could Just have blown front speakers, Or you dont have them hooked up.

Hook up a voltmeter to AC volts, and see if you get voltage coming out of the wires when the radio is on. Then check the speaker on ohms - should be reading around 4 ohms. That'll help you troubleshoot.

I put in the aftermarket deck, but alas still no speakers coming on...

did you tie into the stock wiring, or did you run new wires? i'd pull the speaker out of the door, take some speaker wire and hook it up directly if u get sound you know its a wiring issue and youlle just need to run some new speaker wire. if it doesnt work you know the speaker is dead and that you need new speakers. hell if its used from the lot and you havnt checked there may not even be speakers in the door the previous owner may have taken them out.
