good enough for competitions?

i have a 97 cavalier z24 with 2 12 inch power acoustik fubar 1800 watts a piece with 1 1600 watt 2 channel amp. im just wondering if it is good enough for a competition and if not do you think that my future set up will be? you can see the set up HERE

It depends on what the competition is like in your area. Go to shows and see what people are doing

what he said in MD there is no way unlell you place 3ed and lower, but some place's yea. also what do they have where you live dbdrag,etc? i went to a show last week and took first with a 600 watt amp and 2 15's in the box i had my 12's in and got a 143.7 (sealed up at the dash).

that wasent a db drag event if it was i wouldn't even placed

im not sure what the competition is like because every time i hear about them its too late. i live in the boondocks of MN and the closest REAL town is Brainerd and every time i hear that there WAS a competition. but if any one knows of competitions in Brainerd MN you should let me know. and the videos on the site are not what the subs are pushin now i tuned my amp and made the box ported so it hits a bit harder.

you'll love the gothic series amp, i have a 1600 watt pushin 2 kicker comp vr's. with a 3 farad cap, i love the amp its great it takes a beating and comes back for more every day.

I loved my Gothic pushing 600w.......till it blew.


I had it pushing 2 kenwood 10's and it did a decent job. I don't like 'ghetto' bass, just something to improve the quality of my music.

I also have the gothic 1600w running two cvr12''s in a seales 1.25cu.ft each. Hits hard! and its only half way.

i have another question about competitions, would it be better with a ported box or a sealed box? and do they judge you on db only?

it doesn't matter if you have ported or sealed boxes, kinda of.

go compete and then you will know where you stand compared to those in your area. its the only way to know.
