Ok. so thursday im off and decided to build a new sub box. ive always wanted to go ported so i figure why not. so i got on subwoofertools.com and used there box calculator and this is what i got. i would just give you a link but im at work and have no right click. lol so heres what i got
Box holds 2- 12" Memphis 15-PR12S4 subs
Sub specs are as follows
Fs- 32 Hz
Vas-2.16 c.f
Mms- 136 grams
Xmech (Xmax???)- .352 inches
Qms- 5.37
Qes- .42
Qts-.39
Sensitivity- 88 db
Voice coil diameter- 2 inches
BL- 15.41 T/M
Driver displacement- .12 C.F
Recommended tune- 40 hz
Box specs i got are
Box Volume- 2.23 C.F
Tuning Freq- 39.28 hz
Port Area 37.125
I used the option for SQL wich says is SPL/SQL mix. but this is what i got is this ok??
That's a very small box, and tuned very high. I'd say at least 3 cubic foot, you'll want it tuned around 33-35.
is there any way you can use that program to make me a box??? that way i can print a cut sheet. i thought the box sounded a little small
Max hieght of 15 and max width of 35"
ok. so Memphis recomends there subs to have 2 Cubes each at 40 htz. but. you said tune it to 33 htz. so if i make a box that is 4 cubes and tuned to 33 htz how would i do that
OK so after i quadrupal post i came up with
Box is 35"Wx15"Hx16.75"D
Port is 13.5"Hx3"Wx18.25L
Box would be 4 cubes and tuned to 33htz
2 cubes @ 40 is definitely spl. if you drop the tuning like you did, you'll have a better sound for daily. those numbers sound right.
^ I laugh everytime i see the hoof pic lol
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

so then
THIS box would work perfectly fine then. its actually 4 cubes at 34 htz??thanks alot man
that would work remember to take into effect your woofer and port displacements.
yeah. im using the calculator like you saw. and it takes in to account for those things. im still debating if i wanna go for a little smaller box tho.
these dimensions worked PERFECT for a box. it sounds amazing. built it in 3 hours today to find out it BARELY fits in my trunk. so unfortuneatly all my beuty panels came out. and i have to make new ones but i doubt it. theres literaly NO room in my trunk for anything. oh well. it was ALL worth it. thanks guys for the help. ill post vids and piks in the next coming days.
Pics man? I might use that diagram too
bump! I'm interested bro! I wanna see pics!
lol. i got piks (other people wanted them to) but i havent uploaded yet. TOMORROW for sure. i have to goget my AC fixed and then ill come home and git-r-dun. thanks for the interest.
Was is hard to put the box in bro? I just built mine... 35" wide, 19.5" deep, and 15" high. I couldn't it fit it from the trunk... although I think I just need to remove some carpet first or something. 4 cubes at 33 hz
did a hell of a lot thinking for you. i only use round ports so sorry for the rounds here are the box sizes for a 4.04 cubic foot box out side sizes are height of 15 inches and and a length of 20 and a width of 29.5 internals are w=28.5x h=13.5x L= 18.5 as for ports i like round pvc 4 .25inch x 12.5 or 12.4957515 tuned @ 35 hz or a port that is 3 inch buy 6 inch tuned @ 34 hz any ways the port clac at 12 volt match up to all my books so any ways nuber come out the same any ways it a little smaller of a box but 2 cubes per sub any ways here is that 12 volt web site

his box is built bro. A for effort D- for reading comprehension.
it took more time to put my box in my car than it did to build it. i know you have to remove the spare tire and all accessories. and then you have to slide it in from the back seat and spin it around. but then after you do that you cant get the spare tire back in. so your @!#$ there. i just put my spare behind my back seat whenever i feel i may need it. but i assure youll be happy with the dimensions.
Wow... so I made it fit. holy crap. I went from the trunk end... Just had to dremel a little off the torson bar holder. Once I removed about 1/2" from each, it slid in with ease. I was able to leave the spare, and everything else... just a bitch to get out, heh. Thx for the tips man.
And WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Hooked up the P2's, and gave them some POWAH! Well, not really... just 600 watts @ 1 Ohm RMS. I can tell a difference, it really brings them to life. I showed one of my friends and he said it was loud as hell. Makes ur clothes shake and stuff. I'm happy... It'll be metered on the 7th. I'm just curious to see what it does hit.
