I really need help! I was trying to wire a power door on a 95 cavalier..... and fried something!! The radio and keyless entry won't work anymore!
I need to fix this asap. Please help me!
There is a fuse that runs both. If you use the search button, it will help you. Or, open the owners manual. I'm not sure, but it might even be under the hood in the upper right hand corner of the engine bay. Can't remember......
OK well, I checked all the fuses in the fuse pannel in the car, and in the fuse block in the engine bay (which is on the right side). I've done some searches and still havn't foind anything.... The owners manual for the car is M.I.A.
at first i assumed that i blew a fuse but i cant find it! So i just assumed that i fried something...
This is basically what happened,
I was trying to wire a 96 power door to a 95 z24. I mixed some wires together and hit the lock or unlock button.. Right after that the radio and keyless would not work anymore.
I've fixed the wiring issues for the doors. But the keyless entry wont work.. And the radio is still dead.
What controlls the keyless functions in a 95 cavi?

Yeah i did.... And the worst part about it, is that i crossed the wires that shoulda been connected to the actuator to the wires that activate the relay... yet the relay still works.... Except the relay in the trunk.. for unlocking the drivers side door...
Still i dont know how it fried the power mirrors and the radio and the keyless
did you check the fuses under the hood?
Today at work, somone grounded the Tig/STICK combo machine to itself, and left the +ve and -ve touching eachother...
it sparked, and wouldn't work anymore, all that we did, was reset the breaker and it was fine... so maybe this might apply to you...
im not sure if there ARE breakers, somwhere...
either way... check all fuses in the car AND under the hood
1 DISCONNECT WHAT YOU CONNECTED, and seperate the wires.
NEVER do ANY electrical work with the battery connected...
(I didnt even install my door panel LED's with the battery connected...)
(I made that mistake once, installing neons into a music sensor... while plugged in [needless to say, you only ned to do it once] burnt my fingers in 2 places, so bad they blistered and you could smell burning flesh)
2 does anything else in the car work? (lights, horn, wipers...starter, etc)
3 Does it start?
4 Check main battery
5 voltmeter everything, see if it's grounded somwhere it shudn't be...
6 if all else fails... take it to a shop, assuming it is driveable...
7 you're not much older than me... too bad you're in michigan, and im here... I'd come down and try an help ya.
