I just replaced a blown sub and I wanna make sure I have the wiring setup right in my box. This is what I have:
Rockford P3001 2ohm or 4 ohm amp
- 300w rms @ 2ohms
Rockford P2 10" 4ohm or 8ohm subs
-4ohm rms 200
-4ohm max 400
AMP positive to sub 1 terminal then to sub 2 terminal
AMP negative to sub 2 terminal then to sub 1 terminal
.........am I just tired or is this not making any sense. Are you wiring the subs up for 2 ohms with a mono amp (amp channel positive to sub 1 positive, sub 1 negative to sub 2 positive, sub 2 negative to amp channel negative)? I cant remember if thats called series or parrelell, I don't ever wire subs that way, and it's been too long.
Well minimum ohms my amp runs is 4ohms. My subs are 4ohms each
I have it setup:
AMP positive to sub 1 positive terminal to sub 2 positive terminal
AMP negative to sub 2 negative terminal to sub 1 negative terminal
(positives are connected to positives and negatives to negatives)
Yah I just couldn't find any diagrams for wiring it the way I had it with my two subs. (I guess I should have mentioned two subs earlier with SVC)

As long as your amp is powerfull enough to handle it, you've got them wired correctly. I think thats called wired in series because i'm pretty sure it's called the opposite for batteries, but I still can't remember for sure. (neg to neg, pos to pos, it called parellel refering to automotive batteries).

That doesn't look right.....you wan't to wire it this way...both sub positives to amp positive, and both sub negatives to amp negative. Basically wire both your subs the the amp, using the same terminals on the amp, dont wire your subs together.
any idea whats wrong with having it that way?
you wired them in parallel , thats ok just different, if they are both 4 ohms your gonna get 2 ohms at the amp this way. Has the amp been working ok? What weebel said is gonna get you the same result except hes wiring them in parallel at the amp your doing it at the subs....GL
The amp works just fine (it's rated for the 2ohms so thats what I was wanting out of it).
What size speaker wire should I be running, I am sure I need to upgrade it cause when I opened my box to replace the blown sub one of the wires to the lone working sub was fried right off :/
Now I got two more amps for speakers....to get 4 ohm speakers running at the 2ohms do I wire them the same on a bridged connection? Or can I just run them in series to get the same result/
first of all you should be running at least 12 gauge wire for your subs...if not fatter. Are you running two amps for two subs? if you are you would need two dvc subs to run at 2 ohms each or 2 sets of svc subs wired in parallel (2 ohms each set) ...if you only have 2 svc subs then all you can do is wire each one to its own amp at 4 ohms each....GL
Ok I got a rockford P3001 for my subs...2 rockford P2 10" 4ohm svc subs....I just want to make sure I got them wired properly as according to the diagram I drew up (I looked at the wiring directions included with the subs...it looks fine but I have the postive and the negative wires opposite in the diagram becasue the theory I had was same distance to each sub that way)
I just bought two rockford P2002 for my speakers... so I wanna make sure I hook those up right because they are 2ohm amps.
