Voltage Problem
Thursday, May 24, 2007 8:17 PM
Hey, well i was having problems before and i was positive it was problems with the amp (Kenwood Kac X812D) but when i pulled out the volt meter i realized i was trying to pull wayyyyy too much power. I installed another battery and it cured the problem 100%
Now that i have that cured I was thinking i could wire my subs (Alpine Type R (dual 4ohm)) down to 2ohm and run them in series to the amp insead of parallel just like in the manual. The gain is set at around half and the subwoofers were set at 0 on the deck.
The first time i used them they worked PERFECT i could put the subs up to +5 on the deck before they sounded bad and could turn them up all the way without blowing any fuses they were Insane loud. Then i went to pick up my buddy and i blew a fuse... now whenever i turn them up it blows a fuse again. so i pulled out the volt meter again and its going to 11.9 volts while the car is running before it blows a fuse. Could this just be another lack of voltage problem? If so would ANOTHER battery help. lol, i already did the big 3 and i'd be running 4 gauge to all batterys
Thanks a lot, sorry for having it turn into a big story. lol

I meant to say i've got them wired for a 1ohm load.
I have them wired just like this.
